Tristan wakes up first. He slides Gabe over and he gets off the bed. He goes downstairs to make breakfast. He calls Charlie and they speak. The private funeral will be at eleven. It will be two hours and then they will travel to the cemetery. Tristan hangs the phone up and he finishes breakfast. He made eggs and toast. He knows neither one of the boys will want to eat but they have to nibble on something. He walks up the stairs and wakes the boys up. They both look at him. Gabe has a sad look and Blake has a grateful look. The three boys will talk. Tristan(T), Blake(B), Gabe(G).
(T) Did yall sleep good?
(G) Yeah.
(B) Me too. I am sorry about last night.
(T) You have nothing to be sorry about. I am sorry this happened.
(B) Thank you.
(T) I am not hungry. I know yall don't want to eat. We need to eat breakfast though. I made toast and eggs. Can yall please eat a couple of bites?
(B) Yeah.
(G) We can.
(T) Good, let's head downstairs.
They go down and they eat breakfast. Tristan poured everyone some orange juice. They have finished eating and Tristan has to start the hard talk.
(T) I have three outfits picked out. It is nice clothes. Your uncle said dress nicer but not to wear suits.
(B) My parents and Eli would have hated that. They did not like dressing up.
(T) I know buddy.
(G) When are we leaving?
(T) It is ten we need to leave in thirty minutes.
(B) Ok.
(T) Do yall need help getting ready?
(G) No.
(B) I think I got it.
(T) Ok, go get ready. I will meet yall down here in thirty minutes. We are going to spend the night together.
(G) I thought Emily was coming over?
(T) Not tonight. I want to spend time with my family.
Blake gets a smile. He is glad to hear that word being used. He was afraid Tristan would not want him. He hugs Tristan and then Gabe. They all head up and get ready. They all come back down thirty minutes later, and they get in the car. They head to the funeral home. They walk in and meet Charlie. They go to the private room. They let Blake go in alone for a few minutes. He walks up to each of his family members. They can see through the door. He kisses them all one more time and touches their hands. He spends a long time with Eli. They can hear him talking. They are trying to give him privacy. Blake has tears coming down his face. At this point so do all three of the other boys. They know Blake and Eli had a special relationship.
Blake dries his tears, and he walks back over to them. He hugs them all. They all go up and say their goodbyes. They all go to the chapel. A priest comes in and they move the caskets in. The priest begins the funeral, and it goes by quickly. They drive to the cemetery, and they do the burial. They finish up and they drive to Blake's old house. They let him go in. He goes to his old room. He gets his clothes and tv and Xbox. He grabs his laptop and everything he needs. He then goes to Eli's room. He grabs some of his clothes. His favorite hoodie Eli always wore. He grabs his game system and laptop. He knows there are videos on there of him and Blake. He grabs the pictures of them together. He grabs his high school diploma. He walks to his parent's room and grabs their degrees they had hanging and family pictures. Charlie is helping him pack everything up. He grabs some more things from Eli's room. He gets his old stuffed animal in the closet. Eli always kept it. Blake bought it for him when he broke his leg in the ninth grade from football. He also grabs the comforter Eli loved.
