Chapter 8

(Alexa's POV)

I woke up, and smiled at the fact that I was safe and with the ones I loved. I decided to go downstairs and see what everyone else was up to. I slowly went down, feeling all my muscles tent at the effort of going down each step. When I finally reached the bottom, I found all the boys in the living room with Annie. She was sitting next to Harry, and his arm was around her waist. I smiled, and went to go sit next to Niall, who gladly let me sit next to him. Niall gently whispered in my ear, "How are you feeling?" "I"m alright." I sighed after I answered. He pulled me closer to him, and I rested my head on his shoulder. I started to close my eyes, when I heard a growling noise that was coming from my stomach. "Hungry?" asked Niall who was trying not to chuckle. "Ya, kinda." "I'll go make you some food." He got up and headed towards the kitchen, and I fell back on the couch, closing my eyes in peace. Five minutes later, I felt someone gently stroking my cheek, and I smiled opening my eyes slowly. It was Niall holding a sandwich. "Are you still hungry?" he said chuckling. "Yes" I said as he handed me the sandwich. He sat next to me, and I ate slowly since I still had some cuts around my mouth that wouldn't allow me to open it properly. "Thank you Niall. I don't know what would have happened to me if you hadn't shown up." "Alexa, I didn't want any of this to happen to you. It hurts me so much to see you all beat up like this." I saw tears forming in his eyes, as he brushed over all the cuts and bruises I had on my face. Tears started to form in my own eyes, and Niall came over to me, bringing me into a soft gentle hug. "Shh, everything's fine now. I'm not going to let anyone hurt you ever again. You're safe." And that's exactly how I felt...safe here in his arms. "Can we go downstairs? It feels stuffy in here." "Sure, come on." he took my hand in his, and we went hand in hand downstairs. As soon as I got downstairs, Annie came and gave me a huge hug. She looked almost like herself again, wich just a little cut and a few bruises here and there. "Alexa" she said after pulling away from the hug. "Thank you for staying strong for me. I don't know what I would have done without you." "I will always be there for you Annie. We're practically sisters." She smiled, and I couldn't help but return the smile. I felt my pocket vibrate and pulled out my phone. I had gotten my phone back from the police. When I read the message I had gotten, I felt like I was gonna throw up. It read:

How's life for you Lexi? Just because you're living with them doesn't mean you're safe from us. Thought we'd let you know that we're out of jail, and we're coming to get you.

I gulped, and put my phone back in my pocket. "Hey guys, I think I'm going back upstairs. I don't feel too well." I said getting up and heading towards the stairs. "Everything alright?" Niall asked looking at me with worry clear on his face. "Ya, my head just started hurting." I went up the stairs, and threw myself on the bed, letting all my tears out. How they escaped, I don't know but they were coming for me. I didn't want to be hit, and I certainly didn't want Annie and the boys getting hurt. I had to get away from here.

I went over to the drawers, pulling all my clothes out and stuffing them in the suitcases that were in the back of my closet. Tears began to fall down my face slowly again, as I knew that I couldn't live a peaceful life. I will always be a slave to my stepmother and stepsiblings. "Goodbye Niall" I whispered to myself as I opened the window and left.

I know this chapter is short, I just really needed to update. I'll try updating again, but thank you for being so patient. So what do you guys think. Will Lilly and her kids find Alexa and hurt her?
