Jennie sighed loudly, but cursed on the inside. Of course, he would never let go of Jennie, despite having a new girlfriend.
"You're so mature," Jennie said, without feeling fear.
"Let's see if your new boyfriend will be this brave after he sees what's waiting him," the male voice said, as he turned on the lights.
Kai was standing there, with a gang of girls behind him. All of them were popular and they were all suitable models for Korean magazines.
The cafeteria door opened once again, making Kai smile.
"Speak of the devil," he said.
Everybody turned around and saw a confused Taehyung enter the cafeteria.
"He's here!" one of Kai's girls shouted.
Kai gave her a dirty look and pushed her away,
"I can see that, Yuna. I'm not blind."
The beautiful girl, named Yuna, looked down like a disappointed kid who wasn't allowed to get ice cream until she had finished her vegetables.
"I don't understand what you want, Kai," Taehyung said, his deep voice was very cold now and cut through one's soul like a sharp knife.
"Oh, I'll let you know, Kim Taehyung. Just come here. Stand in front of me, I don't want everyone to hear what's this all about."
Jennie looked at Taehyung, her worrying must've shown on her face, for Taehyung shook his head and flashed a quick smile at her, before he walked up to Kai.
"That's how I like it, face to face," Kai said with a mischievous smirk, before throwing a punch at Taehyung.
Jennie gasped and was about to run forward, but Jisoo grabbed her hand and held it, as she shook her head at Jennie.
"Don't get involved."
Taehyung didn't look shocked, it was as if he had been waiting for this moment. He quickly straightened his back and grinned at Kai.
"Of course, you'd never use words to express your jealousy."
That really enraged Kai, everybody understood that because he got ready to throw another punch, but this time, Taehyung's reflexes didn't betray him.
He easily dodged as he squatted down, making Kai almost lose his balance. Taehyung used this to an advantage, he quickly stood straight up again and used his leg to push Kai down.
Jennie didn't think Taehyung worked out, but it was clear that he did. Looking from the weak Kai on the ground with Taehyung's foot on his back up to the Taehyung who had just pushed him, effortlessly, made Jennie realize that he was more muscular than she had seen.
"We're just getting started, Kai. Why are you chilling on the ground?" Taehyung teasingly asked.
"You goddamn bastard!" Kai burst out.
One of the girls, probably the prettiest out of Kai's girlfriends, ran up to him, looking ready to push Taehyung away, but that act didn't really impress Kai.
"Go away, you fucking bitch! I don't need your help!"
"But... Kai! You look so helpless," the girl tried.
"Yoona, go away! You're nothing but a pretty face!"
Those words seemed to really hurt Yoona, her facial expression went from worried to almost looking like she was ready to cry, but she also looked angry.
"Fine. Do it yourself. You never accept help anyway," she said as she exited the cafeteria.
Kai was really angry now, he grabbed hold of Taehyung's foot and tried to turn around, letting out a groan out of pain, but he got the foot away from his back, since Taehyung had fell to the ground.
Now, Kai turned around and looked at Taehyung like a crazy maniac, he let out a laugh, making Jennie shiver. What had happened to Kai? This wasn't the boy she knew as her ex boyfriend.
Even Lisa was worried, she grabbed hold of Jisoo's hand and cleared her voice,
"Jisoo-ah, let's get out of here, please."
Jennie shook her head.
"No, just let me deal with this. I'm the class president, after all."
Jisoo's hold of Jennie's hand hardened,
"No, Jen. Kai shouldn't be your responsibility, you and him aren't in the same class."
"I don't care about Kai, unnie. I'm doing it to help Taehyung get out of this. He's not just my boyfriend, he's also my class mate."
Finally, Jisoo let go of Jennie's hand. Rosé nodded and smiled.
Jennie noticed that they had talked for too long, it seemed as if Kai had gone completely mad. Taehyung's arms were bruised and she saw the pain in his eyes.
She had to stop this now.
Finally, Jennie walked up to the fight with fast steps, receiving a bit of applauds, but also sounds of concern and voices telling her to back away.
Kai was getting ready to throw even more hands, but then Jennie grabbed hold of his collar with a tight grip.
She lifted him up with all of her strength and forced him to look her in the eyes,
"Fucking pull yourself together, you psychopath," Jennie said.
Taehyung brushed off the dust from his school uniform, Jennie looked at him, Kai had really gone off on him.
His arms were bruised and the back of his school uniform was covered with stains of blood, he needed to get treatment, for sure.
Jennie's attention turned back to Kai, he was trying to pull himself away but Jennie's grip tightened, now Kai groaned out of pain, again.
The long nails of Jennie was touching his neck. She seemed pleased with his weakness.
"This school isn't where you belong to anymore," she started.
"I understand you're still in love with me, but that doesn't mean you should act like someone in a psychward," she continued.
Finally, she threw Kai back to the ground. She gave him a small kick in the stomach, making him scrunch his nose and groan again.
"Lisa, go get a teacher to clean this mess up. Rosé, stay here with Lisa to make sure this bastard doesn't act up again, and Jisoo, make sure you know everyone in this plan," Jennie ordered the three girls.
Now, Jennie walked up to Taehyung.
"I'm really mad at you, oppa, but since you're still so handsome after having been beaten up, I'll let you off," she said as she grabbed his hand and exited the cafeteria with him.
