I no longer am surprised as I see my best friend standing in front of me.

"Megan, I missed you." I say smiling softy.

"I missed you even more" She said rubbing my hands that are interlocked with her.

"Now as much as I would like to catch up, we can do it later when we escape."

"Got it. What do I need to do?"

I'm most definitely ready for the game plan. I'm done being here

"Now I know you can't remember any of our previous conversations other than the last time, but you told me you knew some of the pin that accesses your cell."

I look up trying to remember the pin. It was so long ago and I think I gaslighted myself into forgetting it, as I genuinely believed I wasn't leaving here.

"I have the second part of the pin Joy I just need to know the other part so that we can leave." Megan said trying to encourage me to recall.

Times like this I wished I had stayed strong and focused enough to stay motivated. I'm trying my best to remember, but they did some damage on my mind.

"Megan,- I- I'm not sure."

I can feel the disappointment radiating off of her as she looks midly frustrated.

"I'm so sorry. I'm trying to remember I- I just can't."

"This is not your fault Joy. I know they really messed with your head, don't worry." She sounded like she was trying to call me down but it seemed like she was saying it more to her than me.

"Can't you use some of that brain power of yours, you know, dig around my head a little bit?" I'm trying to make myself useful because apparently I can't even remember properly.

"I would but your brain is much more powerful than you think it is. That's why it took me so long to even try talking to you telepathically. It's difficult to get into your head Joy. If I were to try digging around it would take me some days even if you willingly let me into your head." She's now walking back and forth trying to figure out something.

I just watch pathetically. I force myself to think back to over a year ago, but as short as a year is suppose to feel, it feels like I'm trying to remember something from decades ago. I blink my eyes angrily as I grunt in annoyance.

"Hey, do not feel pressured. I have an idea anyways, but you need to comply and let things happen." I nod my head just trying to make whatever happen, happen quickly.

"Ok good. Now I know you struggle with your telepathic powers, but they were forcing you to use them so maybe if we make it feel like it's your choice they will come easier. You are going to relive when you first learned the pin in your mind." She said grabbing my shoulders while rubbing them calmly.

I can do that, right? I mean I need to I have no choice. Right now it's all or nothing. I need to make myself useful.

I nod my head slowly. "How do I do that?"

"You need to let it come to you. I do not want yourself feeling pressured and I do not want you to believe that this is a difficult task. We don't have many options and trying to get the codes from the guards heads are really difficult. That's why I only have one half of the pin. You need to remember the other half. Now do as I say." She sits us down as she grabs my hands in hers while we sit crisscrossed.

"Breath in deeply and close your eyes." I copy exactly what she does and wait for further instruction.

"Let all your doubts and worries leave as you think about just the pin. Think about how you felt that day, and the thoughts you had. Remember all the details leading up to when you first learned the pin. I will help you as well just keep holding my hands."
