Ramiron walked briskly, He needed to find his best friend Perseus. He was unaware of what was to come. Only that the Dragon Council had found the second youngest of The Shadowstar Quartet out poking around on their grounds.
The secondest youngest of the renowned sibling supersquad was the most wild cardish. Ramiron's parents had once tried to recruit the girl. She had obviously refused, but had gained the name Smoke when she had done so. It was the name given to her by the people. Ramiron hated this so-called hero. And her brother wasn't much better of a hero. The people called him Shade, as he could vanish into the shadows and daylight. The second oldest of the heroes was only slightly better than Shade and Smoke. She was called Firebird. At any moment she could sprout fire wings and burn the entire city down. The youngest hero was by far the worst of the four. The people referred to her as Remix. That girl could scream and burst anyone's eardrums.
The Shadowstar Quartet protected the innocents. Ramiron knew that, but the "innocents" caused all the trouble. His parents and the Dragon Council just wanted to make sure the trouble didn't get out of hand.
"Hey Perseus! Do you have that file that I asked you for?" Ramiron asked, finally spotting him.
"I do, but you cannot tell your father that I was the one to give it to you," Perseus whispered.
"A lie for a lie. A secret for a secret."
Perseus grinned in satisfaction and quickly walked away. Ramiron opened the file and smirked. He knew his parents would have a file on her. It was just a matter of finding the file and he had exactly the resources to find it.
Reading the fine print of the file proved to be difficult., but he managed. It was a warning. Ramiron once more smirked. Smoke, obviously, was just your average girl, but his parents wanted him to stay away from her. He needed to find out why. One thing he did notice was that compared to her siblings Smoke's file was fairly empty. A normal person would have been deterred by its emptiness but he wasn't. In fact, the emptiness of the page gave him hope. If he could simply get his parents to allow him to go on a mission. Then he could finally see the world.
Ramiron walked quickly weaving his way past the other villains in the Council. It was an art he had learned over the years. He was careful to keep on his toes. Any of those around him could easily stab him in the back, quite literally too. Most of the villains in the Dragon Council had much more questionable morals than his own. They were willing to kill an unarmed opponent while he was not. Ramiron had enough dignity and honor to know that those values were something he wished to not lose.
His father had once told him, "A villain was a villain when he had dignity and honor but the moment a villain lost his honor he became a monster and nothing more." That saying had stuck with Ramiron all his life. It was the code he lived by.
Ramiron seemed to dance on the air as he passed his associates, careful to not get too close to any of them. If he needed he could absorb the magic that resides in some of the villains' life force. Although it would have been unnecessarily painful for both him and the villain he would have tried to drain. Ramiron would rather just stick to himself and get through the industry of villains.
After a few moments, he reached his father's office. The entrance to the office itself was a piece of magnificent art. The doorway trim was plated with gold and the door had mysterious dragon-like knocks.
"How may I help you?" a feminine voice asked. Ramiron looked at the knock on the left and smiled.
"Hello Nala," he said.
"Oh, why hello Ramiron! Are you here to see your father?"
"Don't let him in!" the knock on the right shouted.
