When Ramiron woke up on the ground outside of HQ, he was confused and disoriented for only a second. Upon remembering what had happened, he was full of rage. He stood up.
“You let her escape, didn’t you?” Ramiron’s younger sister, Siliana prodded.
“I didn’t let that girl do anything,” Ramiron growled, sitting on a bench, taking the wrist wrap Siliana was handing him. He must have landed on it wrong and she could sense that, “Also, stop using your stupid power on me.”
“I’m not. Your wrist was just beginning to turn a little bit purple,” she stuck her tongue out at him, poking the beast so to say, trying to gauge a response and he knew what she was doing.
“Whatever you say,” he spoke, nonchalantly.
After Ramiron successfully dejected his sister, he stood and walked to the local cafè.
He needed to get a good hot cocoa.
“Hello, Prince of Darkness,” his other best friend Elsyon said. She was the best barista at Chocolate & Co. Tearoom.
“What vicious mockery do you have in store for me today?”
She laughed. “What do you mean ‘vicious mockery’? I’m an incredibly nice villain.”
“Ironic much?”
“Big words much?”
“Ironic isn’t a big word.”
“So what? I hate holding back my mockery.”
Ramiron laughed.
“You want your usual?”
“Yeah.”
“What do you think to be so good about Hot Cocoa? This is a tearoom. Not a hot cocoa room.”
“Don’t you guys serve coffee as well?”
“Yeah, you’re right. Why call it a tearoom, when it should really be called a cafè? Whoever was in charge of naming this place sucked with names. Or really liked tea.”
“Or both,” Ramiron looked off into space as if trying to prove a point.
“Yeah, whatever.” Elsyon turned to begin making Ramiron’s hot cocoa.
After four minutes, his hot cocoa was ready. He took a sip to test the flavour, but quickly found it to be scorching hot.
“Hot!” he borderline shouted.
“Yeah, it does that.”
He put a wieya on the counter and walked out of the tearoom.
He walked to the park and sat on a community bench. Around him, villains were doing their thing and harassing the common folk of the city. Within five seconds of a robbery or something illegal happening, a hero would show up. Annoying people, heroes. They are inferior and stop his fun.
Today it was Firebird, Remix, and Spirit, who had the ability to create illusions. They were splitting up and fighting everyone. Bad decision.
Suddenly, Smoke rode in on her mount. It had tough skin for protection against her power and it had wings to fly, there was a thin layer of fur on her mount. It had a beak like an eagle and dark red penetrating eyes. She would be a good villain. Smoke would. She had the power of one and a mount of one. And her moral compass was the exact chaotic making of one. If it weren’t for her goody-two-shoes siblings, she could have easily been turned bad.
Could have, isn’t real life, he reminded himself.
He sipped on his hot cocoa, enjoying the beautiful day. Smoke just had to darken his day by approaching him.
“What kind of evil do you have in store for today?” she asked.
“If drinking hot cocoa is evil, then this is it,” he spoke calmly.
“That can’t possibly be the only thing you are doing today,” she scoffed.
“In fact, it can be,” he challenged.
“I don’t believe you.”
“Be that as it may, I don’t lie.”
Ramiron watched as Smoke drew her blade on him. She truly had no honour. Attacking an unarmed opponent? Pfft, the lowest of the low tactics.
He stood calling forth his own sword from the interdimensional plane it originates from.
They stood opposite from each other. Smoke grinned as she knew initiating a fight would cause Ramiron to stand his ground. He knew she knew this. However, one can’t win a game that they aren’t even a part of. He decided to play Smoke’s game. It was unexpected but could work to the overall game he was playing with her.
Smoke lashed out first.
