Chapter 3

"Whats going on here?" I looked to see Alpha and Immediately looked at the floor. Cain took a step back and looked at Alpha. They had some staring competition and the place was uncomfortably quiet. "Did the girl do something wrong?" Alpha asked. I heard his growl that was directed towards me.

Another growl was heard and it was Cain. Alpha stopped and took a step back. Luna seemed scared out of her mind. Cain made me look up and I met his eyes again. "I will ask again. Dont say what he wants to hear. What is your name?" Cain asked again. I looked at Alpha and he glared at me. "Dont look at him. Answer me." Cain said.

I looked at him and took a deeo breath. "Elara. My name is Elara." I whispered. Cain gave a small smile and I suprised he smiled.

"Thats a beautiful name." He said. I felt someone grab my arm and Alpha pulled me away from Cain.

"Go to your room." He whispered in my ear. I knew he was going to beat me when Cain left.

"Stay put Elara." Cain said. I didnt know what to do. Alpha growled at Cain and Luna looked worried, scared and had tears in her eyes. "Watch it Luke. Elara come here now." Cain demanded. I walked towards him and Cain tried to move my hair away from my face. I stopped him and moved away. "What are you hiding?" He asked.

"Alpha Cain. That girl is not of any importance. She is just a maid here." Alpha Luke said. Cain growled.

"This maid of yours is my mate! She is hiding something and she is scared to show me. What did you do to her?" Cain growled. Alpha Luke looked scared and so did Luna. Cain caught me off guard and moved my haur away from my eye. He growled when he saw the bruuse around my eye. "Who did this to you?" Cain asked. U heard the low growl he made.

"Alpha Cain, I have nothing to do with that. I didnt even know she-"

"Silence. Im talking to Elara." Cain said. I looked at him and then at Alpha Luke.

"His nephews." I whispered. Cain growled.

"We're leaving." Cain said. He took my hand and led me to the door. Alpha Luke grabbed my arm and pulled me back.

"She belongs to my pack and I forbid her to leave." Alpha said. Cain was about to speak when I slapped Alpha Luke across the face. He looked at me stunned at my actions. I looked at Luna and she gave me a pleading look. I knew what she wanted but after this stunt, I didnt want to help her.

"I dont belong to anyone." I said. I followed Cain out the door and towards his car. He opened the door for me and I got in. Cain got in the drivers seat and started the car. My face was wet and I realised I was crying. Cain took a quick glance at me and then looked at me then back to the road.

"Whats wrong?" He asked. He looked wooried. Concerned. All the pain from earluer came rushing back and the tears rolled down my cheeks. "Elara, whats wrong?" Cain asked again. The next thing I saw were stars then everything went black.

Cain's pov

Elara fainted and I drive stright to our pack hospital. "Elara wake up." I said and tried to wake her up. I pressed on the gas and the car sped up. I held Elara's hand but then I smelled something. Something I never wanted to smell from my mate. Blood. I looked at her stomach and she was bleeding.

I stopped in front of the pack hospital and got Elara. I carried her bridal style into the hospitak. I felt anger and fear. She cant die. I just found her. "I need some help over here!" I yelled. Dr Grey rushed to me.

"Follow me." She said and we rushed into one of the hospital rooms. I layed Elara on the bed and two more doctors walked in. "Alpha please wait outside." Dr Grey said. I looked at Elara and saw that there was a bandaid wrapped around her stomach. It was poorly done so she must've done it herself. "Alpha please." Dr Grey said. I reluctantly walked out. They closed the door as they helped Elara. I sat on a chair and waited for one of them to come out of the room.

Two hours passed and I was still waiting. The doctors finally walked out of the room and I pulled Dr Grey aside. "How is she?" I asked. Her glives were covered in Elara's blood. She took them off and threw it in a nearby bin.

"We found seven broken ribs, broken wrist and bruises everywhere. There were some internal damage done but nothing too serious. That will heal on its own. We also found a lot of traces of wolfsbane in her blood system. Its a miracle she is still breathing." Dr Grey said. I let out a low growl which made her step back and bow her head. "She is stable now but she fell unconscious due to the pain. She will wake uo in a day or two."

I looked at Elara, peacefully sleeping. "You are sure she is stable now?" I asked.

"Yes but, she has other scars and wounds. Some were reopened and the bruise around her eye looks fresh. She was abused Alpha." Dr Grey said. I loud beeping sound went off and Dr Grey ran off. I walked into Elara's room and closed the door. I looked at Elara and she had an IV line in her arm. Her arms were bandaged and so was her stomach.

I sat in the chair next to her bed and held her hand. I was careful cause it was the hand wuth the broken wrist. I looked at her state and Dr Grey's words kept echoing in my head. "We also found traces if wolfsbane in her blood system."

She was totured beyond imaginable. I took my phone out of my pocket and called Jaxon. "Meet me at the hospital. Second floor room sixteen." I said and hung up before he could ask any questions. I put my phone away and waited for Jaxon.

Jaxon is my beta and best friend. We grew up together and he was there for me when I became Alpha. He was also the son of my parents beta so he already knew what to do when it came to being a beta. The door opened and Jaxon walked in. He looked at Elara then back at me. He noticed I was holding her hand and he growled.

"Who did this to out luna?" He asked. He looked ready to kill anyone but we cant resort to violance just yet.

"Im not saying. I called you here to do a backround check on Elara. And on the Blood cove pack." I said. Jaxon growled when I said the pack's name. He kept his cool when he spoke again.

"Anything else Alpha?" He asked.

"Im going to try and get her out of the hospital soon. Inform my father of my location and my absence for at least a day." I said. He nodded and left the room. "Please wake up." I said and kissed the back of Elara's hand.
