The sun was up when Drake and I got back to camp. Harmony was still sleeping so we decided to let her sleep (cuz she was gonna need all she could get) and make some food.
I fished for a little and caught three salmon. And somehow I could understand them. And the words they said weren't very nice. If I had said them, my mother would've washed my mouth out with soap.
When I got back, Drake had already started a fire. Which was good since I was freezing from the water. Harmony was still sleeping, but when she wakes up she'll have food to wake up too.
Drake had explored and found some berries. So we had fish and berries. Wasn't your normal breakfast, but at least we had food.
I sat next to Drake and laid the fish over the fire. When I finished he handed me a blackberry.
"Thanks" I said
"No problem." Drake replied happily.
I laughed. "Why do you sound so happy?"
"Why do you think kelp brain?" He replied laughing.
I laughed. I was pretty sure why. He enjoyed spending time with me. And I guess I could say the same about him.
I took the fish off the fire and set it on some paper plates. (Always come prepared right?) Drake then set some of the berries on each plate. We were ready to eat.
"I'll go wake up Harmony." I said as I got up.
"OK." Drake said, then stuffed a berry in his mouth.
When I got to her sleeping bag, I touched where I thought her shoulder was, and felt nothing.
I looked up puzzled. Where could she have gone the past thirty minutes?
I stood and looked at the forest before me. Could she have gone there? She couldn't of gone to the water. If there is one this Harmony hates, its swimming.
"Hey Drake I'll be right back." I said, hoping he wouldn't ask you here I was going
"Okay, where are you going?" He asked anyway.
"Somewhere." I reply and rush off before he could respond.
I ran in and immediately say Harmony, laying in a low tree reading a book.
"Harms?" I say making her jump.
"Oh, its just you." Harmony says.
"How long have you been put here?" I asked
"Only about the last half hour." She replies.
"Oh OK, otherwise we have some food ready at the campsite."
Harmony grabbed her stomach and hopped out of the tree. Just as we started walking back, and ear splitting shriek sounded behind us. Me and Harmony looked at each other. "Run." We both said and we bolted back to our campsite.
As soon as we got there we started packing. Drake looked at us crazily and asked: "What are you guys doing?"
I stared at him sternly. "Somethings coming."
He got the clue and started packing his stuff too. The shriek came again. It was closer this time.
I slung my bag over my shoulder and pulled my dagger out. If I had to fight I would.
"Atlanta come on!" Harmony yelled.
I ran too them. But then we didn't know where to go.
"Where do we go?" Drake yelled, obviously scared.
I looked around trying to figure it out. The screams were getting louder everytime they sounded.
And then I realized it.
"Guys the water!" I screamed.
"Harmony and I can't breath underwater like you can!" Drake yelled.
"Atlanta pray to your dad, its our only chance!" Harmony exclaimed.
I stared at the water and took a deep breath.
Dad. I prayed. Please help us. I need to keep them safe. And we need a ride into the water.
Nothing happened at first. The current kept its speed. But then three heads popped above the surface. They were seahorse things.
"Hippocampi!" Harmony exclaimed.
"We can fuss over them later! Come on!" I ordered.
We all quickly climbed onto our hippocampus and they stormed away quickly. I looked back to the shore and there were three bug looking things with wings to small for there bodies.
"What are those things?" I asked.
"Harpies." Drake replied immediately.
Harmony paled. But I didn't know what they were, and I didn't wanna ask.
"Guys we're going under to search." I said.
"Can me and Drake breath?" Harmony asked.
Yes. I heard a deep voice in my head replying to her question.
"Yes, you can." I said after a pause.
They both looked weirdly, and I wasn't sure if they believed me.
"Guys believe me, you will be fine." I said confidently.
I heard Harmony sigh behind me. I couldn't tell if it was good or bad, but she seemed to be fine.
"I'm ready, lets go." Drake said.
I nodded to him, and looked at the shore, which was far behind us now. Because I knew I wouldn't see it for a long time.
"Okay, lets go." I said halfheartedly.
And with that we dove into the sea.**********************
