Avoidance

I dodge lunch, to avoid Draco and perhaps his wrath too. I retreat back to the courtyard where I know he won't be. I saw him heading towards the hall.

Staring out at the field calms me. My body unfolds from all the knots it's been twisted in to and after today, Iay as well be twisted into a million knots.

The way Draco talked to me earlier. It was brief of course but in that briefness I was undone. His voice whispered so low that only I could hear. He meant it as a threat but my body took his breathe brushing against my skin as a open invention to go weak.

Rain begins to scatter onto the field, hitting the grass and leaves ruthlessly. The harsh wind picks up amd throws my loose blonde locks into my face. I tie my hair into a messy bun and don't care if anyone were to see my like this because no one ever sees me.

"Do you eat? Like ever?" His voice hits me harder than the wind blowing in my face.

I inhale a sharp breathe. Wrong decision, very wrong.

"Yes", I reply staring at the storm that's starting to unfold harshly infront of me. At the moment this storm seems more calm than my heart at the moment.

"It doesn't look like it",Draco says and nears me. His voice full of confidence.

My body stays grounded to the spot , despite all the warning signs flashing red in front of me.

"I do. Just not alot." , I say hoping he will just leave me alone.

My hands and chest and lungs yearn for him to come closer, yet my brain swaps the idea away like an annoying fly.

Draco steps in front of me and we lock eyes. It was not meant to happen but the moment it did, I forget how to breathe.
In fact I don't breathe.
I don't move.
I feel so small under his towering gase. I can feel how his breaths touches my nose like a slight feather. Yet again my body wants to lean in closer to him but my brain tells me to move away so I do neither amd just stand still.

I know, I know, I know I should take a step back but my body won't respond to my demand.

"Back on the train", I say trying to ease the tension folding thick between the small spaces of us," When you asked why I was standing in the aisle. There was something else you wanted to ask me",I breathe just barely,"Something more"

"How could you possibly know such thing y/n?", He says harshly cutting the tension between us with a butcher's knife.

"Ask me", I press ignoring his previous question.

"Why do you want to know so badly?", Draco's voice turns into something else

"Curious"

"Give me a better reason, y/n", He says my name more urgently.

I can't take the way he says my name. I know if I open my mouth now I'll just stutter and fall over my own words so I turn around and start to walk away.

"If- if you don't belong with them, then who do you belong to?", Draco says finally.
