Breakfast

At breakfast I sit at the furthest end of the table where no one dares to look nor sit. I'm not stressed about sitting at a new table. I know I'll blend in perfectly well with the furniture. Nun of the girls really acknowledged my new appearance in the room, this morning. I blend in with the unnatural things in rooms.

I don't reach over the table to get food. I simply watch how the rest of the students lash down onto their plates. I'm not crazy, I just take a lot of pride in being civilized and blending in with everyone. I have to watch them to mold my features so their eyes will graze right past me.

"Are you not eating?", Draco sits down beside me. I can't help but notice that there's a joke growing in the back of his throat.

I stop breathing, not to suffocate myself, although that would do me plenty of favours right about now. His dumb sent engulfed my senses all through last night, I would prefer it not interfere with my day too.

"I don't eat breakfast", I state.

Draco stuffs a laugh. "Then why are you in the hall then?"

The breath in my throat escapes and I breathe for a millisecond. My fingers start to shake as they rest on my lap. My mind jumps back to all those nights that I wished to hear that laugh. Not a laugh born out of spite, but rather a laugh born out of amusement. For research purposes of course. His laugh sounds like soft tattering raindrops between loud strikes of thunder striking down at the earth.

"To hear if there's any announcements" I state simply. That wasn't my soul reason but it was one of my reasons for being in a place that i have no business in.

"So that's how you look so young for someone in their last year",

"I take that as a complement, Draco"

"I meant it as one", He leans in closer to my ear and my heart stops and my hands feel ice cold. His breathe brushes against my neck and sends shivers down my spine,"Y/n", He whispers.

I stand up from the table, slamming my palms to the table to retrieve the life back to it.

"Okay", I release a breath," That's enough for today"

I walk away and heat Draco's voice faintly ask what I had enough of.

The answer: Him
I've had more encounters with him than I've ever had in my years attending Hogwarts and I can't handle all the attention he directs at me. I have to betray my body when he's near so my body won't betray itself all because if him. It feels almost suffocating, like I might literally freeze over the next time he's near me.

I take in a massive gulp of fresh air when I finally reach the courtyard. Out here, I can breathe freely without inhaling hints of him. My fingers can brush against the pillars and I won't wonder if he has touched these concrete circles.

Fresh cut grass and wet stone drifts in the air and somehow this feels refreshing. Grey storm clouds start to gather slowly, telling tales of a upcoming storm. I don't have my robes on just yet, so the air feels chilly. It's faint, hard to notice, but climbs up my naked arms and reached out behind my neck, leaving its fingerprints behind.

I lean against a pillar and stare put at the vast field before me. There's a eerie silence laced thick between the leaves and it feels calming. There's no one out here to look at, nothing to learn. Just grass and small twigs from trees following the direction of the harsh winds.

I don't know how long I was staring at the courtyard but it must have been atleast an hour because I hear footsteps approach, meaning breakfast must already be done. I don't bother looking at who is coming. I know they won't notice me.

"You must really love skipping first period, because you will if you don't get going" Draco says leaning on the opposite side of the pillar.

Note: The scenery might not exactly lign up with the movies.
