Chapter 4: Freedom

Rebekah Aurora and Elena were all at the boarding house in Stefan's room "Bekah you shouldn't be snooping around" Aurora sat on Stefans bed watching the blonde original 

"oh come on, it's not like you never wanted to snoop" she replied holding up Stefans boxers "boxer briefs, now that's a change from the twenties" 

"Are you gonna root through his stuff all night or are you gonna tell me about your story" Elena was leaning on the doorway annoyed with Rebekahs stalling 

"you really are no fun, what do you want to know"

"well Elijah said your father was a landowner in Europe" she started "how did you guys end up here?"

"my parents had just started a family when a plague struck their homeland, they lost a child to it they wanted to escape and protect their future family from the same fate" Rebkah explained 

"so how did you end up here this part of the world hadn't been discovered yet"

"not by anyone in your history books" Aurora added

"But my mother knew a witch called Ayana, who heard from the spirits of a mystical land where everyone was healthy. Blessed by the gifts of speed and strength, that led my family here where we lived amongst those people"

"The werewolves?" Elena questioned

"To us they were just our neighbours, my family lived in peace with them for twenty years during which time they had more children. Including me"

"you make it sound so normal"

"it was"

Rebekah kept on explaining her family history while Aurora sat there bored since she already heard the story several times and after Elena left they talked about what Klaus would do if Elena would wake him up until she came back.

"How do you know that Mikael killed your mother" she questioned

"Nik was there. He told me" Rebekah replied 

shaking her head she responded "He lied to you"

"And how do you know that?" She responded 

"The cave where you carved your family's names are covered in symbols. The story of you family, how your parents arrived, how they made peace, the spell that made them into vampires and this the symbol of a hybrid" Elena put down images of the symbols from the cave in front of Rebekah "it's the combination of a werewolf and the vampire symbol. And this is the one for your mother" Elena put down another picture

"Her necklace" Rebekah realized 

Knowing what Elena was going to say next Aurora slowly got up "Elena don't" She warned

Putting down another picture she continued ignoring her friends warning "And this is the story of her death. The hybrid killed the original witch not Mikael. Klaus."

Rebekah had tears forming in her eyes threatening to drop "no, no he wouldn't"

"she put the curse on him, made it so he would be the only one of his kind. Then she rejected him. With the werewolf gene comes aggression and violence . When he turned all of that was heightened, he killed her Rebekah then made up this entire lie about your father so that he wouldn't lose you"

now mad at Elena Aurora got up and grabbed her arm "Elena stop!"

"These mean nothing they are just stupid drawings done by stupid people, who had no idea who my family was!" Rebekah grabbed all the photos and threw them in the burning fire
