Chapter 24: Failed plan
Aurora awoke slowly to the smell of pancakes, she immediately got dressed and went down to see Stefan in an apron cooking a pile of pancakes.
"That's a bit much, don't you think?, my love."
"Some are practise and I also got a bit carried away" he chuckled
"So, what are we going to do with those?"
"We could donate them?" he suggested
"Or we could eat all of them?" she smiled
He smiled back and soon they were stuffing pancakes in their mouths while laughing at each other. Sadly they couldn't finish it all so they did end up giving it away before making their way to Klaus.
"Woah, what have you got there" she said amazed. Despite Klaus having many master pieces they never cease to surprise her.
Klaus chuckled "It's my donation for the winter wonderland charity event"
"It looks like a giant snowflake" Stefan bluntly said
"Well, I like to think it's an expression for post modernism" Klaus said
Then a hybrid came in and Aurora recognised him as one of the hybrids that tried to take her hostage. Stefan realised it too and so did the hybrid, he looked to Aurora and she winked at him with a smile.
"You said it was urgent?" he spoke
"Yes. Take this to the Mystic grill immediately." he ordered
"You want me to be a delivery guy?" he asked in disbelief
"Isn't that what he said?," she questioned walking towards him "What he want's you to do is follow his orders without attitude"
He replied to her with a smile and grabbed the painting "Be careful with that, it's still wet" Klaus smiled
"Abraham Lincoln freed the slaves, you know" Stefan said
"What is the point of hybrids being sired to me if I can't maximize on the benefits of free labour?" Klaus questioned "What are you doing here anyway"
"Damon want's us to find a cure for Elena" Stefan answered
"What's wrong with Elena?"
"She's sired to him" he said
"Ah, I intuited as much"
"Aurora, princess, I thought you're not apart of the 'saving Elena squad'"
"I'm not, I'm just here to visit you"
"But what about Stefan, he's with you now. Why should he care for Elena"
"I'm doing it for Damon" Stefan spoke
"Well, all you need is the hunters sword -which I have-, you need a hunter who we'll use to decipher the hunters mark. And you're the one who's supposed to deliver the hunter and his mark" Klaus said cleaning his art equipment
"We have the hunter and that's Jeremy and he needs to keep killing vampires to complete his mark but we can't figure how to stop him from killing us."
"Well that seems like quite a chore. Which is why I feel perfectly justified doing charity work"
"Or maybe your lying about having found the sword" he accused
"Why would I lie to you, Stefan? We're in this together" he then walked off towards a safe which he unlocked bringing out a familiar sword "The hilt acts as a cipher which we'll use to decode Jeremy's tattoo When he's killed enough vampires" he set it down for Stefan to pick up.
Picking it up Stefan examined it "Heard you moved out of your house to Aurora's. Bit of a martyr move"
"I did it to spend more time with Aurora and get away from Elena" Stefan said bitterly
"Oh why don't you just marry her at this point. Go on you have my blessing but Kol, Elijah and Rebekah might need a bit of convincing"
Hearing this Aurora engaged herself in the conversation "What is going on" she demanded
"Oh I was giving Stefan my blessing to marry you" he grinned
Stefan looked at Klaus in disbelief. Luckily for him she knew it was a joke.
"Oh shut it Nik, speaking of Rebekah, where is she and when are you undaggering her?" she asked crossing her arms
"Soon"
"How soon is soon?
"Soon" he smiled, Klaus loved picking on Aurora like this he loved how quickly she got angry and hot-headed
"Well how soon!" she asked again loosing her patience
"Soon"
"Klaus I swear if you don't undagger my sister I'll dagger you myself"

Aurora, Stefan, Caroline and Klaus went into the Mystic grill together and split up. Stefan went with Klaus while Aurora and Caroline spent their own time together. Aurora liked the fact that Stefan was slowly warming up to Klaus and how Caroline no longer got so flustered when Klaus showed her affection in front of people.
Aurora and Caroline were talking when Aurora noticed how Tyler kept glancing at Klaus and then he would sometimes look at Caroline. But Aurora had a burning feeling that Tyler was up to something so grabbing her blonde best friend she went over to Klaus.
"Nik" she spoke uneasily
"Yes, princess" he smiled
"Tyler keeps looking at you and I have a really bad feeling that there's something going on"
"If there is anything going on love, I won't let it happen"

The party went on as usual and the four of them were having a good time until a hybrid called Hayley came along.
Aurora actually liked Hayley and they'd often speak to each other for hours on the phone but what she said next made Aurora like her even more.
"Klaus, Tyler and his hybrids are planning on killing you tonight. They're in the woods waiting for a witch but there is no witch I lied just to lure them there" she spilled
"What?!" Klaus asked
"Why would you help us?" Aurora asked
"Because, just trust me and I'll tell you later"
Klaus and Aurora immediately sped away into the woods and on their way Klaus found the hybrid that took his painting. Taking that hybrid and forcing him to lead them to where the hybrids were they made their way deep into the woods.
Klaus ripped that hybrids heart out when they found the pack of hybrids which triggered them to try and fight against him. One by one each of the hybrids died a different way by Aurora and Klaus. While Klaus slowly killed one Aurora followed the last one into a cellar where that hybrid met her end; as she was about to leave she noticed a coffin. Opening it slowly she was met with the face of Rebekah.
Quickly she pulled the dagger out and minutes later the blonde original gasped awake.
"Aurora?"
"Oh Rebekah, I finally found you!" she squealed
The two momentarily hugged and Aurora helped her out the coffin. Aurora told her to go to her house and wait there while she went to Hayley.
"Hayley!" she called out grabbing the girls attention
"Why did you tell us" she asked
"I made a deal to find my family and I needed to sacrifice twelve hybrids so I formed a plan and I'm guessing by the blood all over you, you completed it" she explained
"You guessed right" she winked "I also found Rebekah so we both got something out of it"
"Guess we did" this time Hayley winked and both girls burst out laughing and Aurora invited her to her house where Rebekah waited probably with Stefan as company
