Righteousness and Rigor Mortis; two sides of the same coin. One crafted from the gentle hands of humanity, and the other crafted from the cruel hands of death. Both could be as cruel as eachother. Although one was morally correct, the other was a cold embrace. That was what she was, a puppet without strings.

This library was full of things that she never knew. Information swirling around her as if forming a dome. It could be kind but hurtful at the same time. She covered her face with her fan as she looked down at Grim. Grim was pitiful at times in her eyes. A moth to the flame.

Her fingers gently brushed against a hardback book. It was a love story book. Oh how she wished her story ended like how those happy love stories ended. She stared at Grim.

"Foolish human! Did you really think you could slip away from ME?
Now, unless you wanna get burned to a crisp, take off that—!" A loud sound of something hitting flesh filled the air. A tall man's figure stood behind Grim. He seemed angered with Grim.

"Me-YEOW! That hurt! What gives?" Grim said as he rubbed his back where he was hit. It seemed to hurt.

"Consider it tough love. Ah, I've found you at last. Splendid. I trust you're one of this year's new students? My, were you ever eager to make your debut. And bringing a poorly trained familiar with you? That is a clear violation of the school's rules!" The man said. She couldn't tell who he was because of the crow mask on his face.

Y/N slowly lost her cool. Slowly. If she ended up in that form. She would never live it down. She tried to keep composed. The markings of the mask began etching on her face. "He is not my familiar. Where am I?" She questioned. She wanted to know instead of being in the dark all the time.

She was ignored by both as Grim said, "As if I'd serve some lowly human! Now lemme go!" He protested. He wanted to be a great mage. Y/N just covered her face with the fan.

"Yes, yes. Rebellious familiars always say that. Do be quiet for a bit, won't you?" Something covered Grim's mouth as he wasn't able to talk. He desperately tried to form words. But he was silenced.

"Dear me. Of all the students I've dealt with, you're the first with temerity enough to open their own gate and step out of it. Does the very notion of patience elude you? No matter. Your orientation has already begun. Let us return to the Mirror Chamber." The man said while adjusting his coat and crow mask. She stared confused at him.

"Student...?" She was so confused. And he was giving all these passive aggressive comments that she picked up on.

"You awakened in a room full of gates, did you not? All of the students here at the campus arrived by passing through such gates.
Although typically the students have restraint enough to wait until I open them before waking up." The man said like it was a crime of her even waking up before he did. She decided not to say anymore incase she angered him.

"But now is not the time for such prattle. You've a student orientation to attend! Go on, now. Make haste!" He dismissed her. Before she walked off, she did want to know who he was.

"Who are you?" She said. The fan still covered her face apart from her eyes and above. Her eyes showed that she was confused. Was she dead? Was she alive? She didn't even know anymore.

"Hm? Have you not fully regained consciousness? The timespace teleportation must have addled your memories... Well, these things happen, I suppose. I shall explain it to you while we walk. Truly, my magnanimity is boundless." He said like he was the most benevolent man alive. She just followed him like a lost duckling.
