Heights Observational Report: Unencountered Beast
Beast Identification: Gameon
Beast Classification: Alpha
Description:
> Comprises mostly of stone.
> Has the capability to morph into various encountered and unencountered beasts.
> Whilst morphing into a different form, it would seemingly change into a liquid state. However, it retains the properties of stone.
> Found to be hostile towards any movement made by organic lifeforms, with the exception of flora and fauna. It could be inferred that it detects via heat but this is unconfirmed.
> The beast closely mimics the beast that it has taken shape into but is also able to deviate from its form's behaviour should the situation call for it.
> Shortly after morphing into a new form, it would momentarily be in stasis, giving a window of opportunity to strike.
> If any part of the beast is broken off, the part would be replaced instantaneously.
> Periodically, it would rapidly expand out spikes at high speeds to retaliate (as part of its behavioural deviation). It typically happens right before it changes form, but it can happen spontaneously.
I was dispatched to cull this beast after The Four determined its classification was to be raised to Alpha from Behemoth following its reported indiscriminate attacks. What I did not expect at the time was that an Association had already taken up the deed when it was still classified as a Behemoth. It was a party of three, it comprised 1 High and 2 Middle. They seemed to hold out well so I decided to stay put and observe its behaviour from the sidelines. The beast took on a shape that I do not recall the characteristics of. The High stayed at the backlines, presumably allowing the Middles to test the waters. The hooded Middle chained up the beast and shortly after, the white-haired Middle sent out lightning onto the beast. On anything else, that would have been a lethal combo. What they did not realise, however, is that the whole beast is constituted of rocks, and rocks have no conductivity whatsoever.
Following the joint attack, the beast immediately grew out multiple spikes from different directions aimed towards the two Middles. The white-haired one was able to dodge quickly. The other was not that lucky. It grazed his upper body, leaving a sizeable puncture on his side observable from a distance. After those sequence of events, the High decided to step in, it was also the moment the beast decided to seemingly "melt" which in turn unbound itself from the now injured Middle's chains. The chains themselves seeped into its body, never to be seen again. Observing this, the High hesitated and instead opted to escort the injured Middle out. The beast then took on the form of the Behemoth: Nochther. It solidified within at most 3 seconds and seemed to be stationary for approximately 5 seconds afterwards.
Nochthers are well known for burying into the ground to set up an attack, which was what the beast immediately did. The Heights were also cognizant of this fact and were visibly distressed. The High quickly threw two probes far ahead of him, they were ultrasound emitters used specifically made to counteract blind beasts such as Nochthers. I must commend his quick thinking. This is where the deviation of behaviour occurred. Instead of devouring the surrounding area of the ultrasound emission, the same spikes from Gameon appeared at random, concentrating on wherever created the most vibration. The three of the Heights were extremely lucky for not getting impaled by any of the spikes. Shortly after the attack, it melted again, forming multiple puddles that slowly converged onto a point to form back the collective beast. The white-haired Middle then decided to smite the beast while in that state. That move was proven useful as it was able to delay the formation of a new form. Unfortunately, it did not stop the whole process on its own. Soon it formed into a beast that required my intervention.
