"Maia!" Astoria said, engulfing her best friend into a hug as she entered the compartment. "I'm so glad you're alright!"
"Hey Tori! Kinda need to breathe!" Maia gasped out, chuckling.
Astoria pulled away as the two sat down, across from each other. "So how are you? Is everything going okay? Are you going to be safe?"
"Tori, please- I already told you I'm fine in my letter. But, I did walk into a conversation between my aunt and uncle. My uncle had the audacity to say that there is not an ounce of love or care for me left in my father!" Maia explained to her.
"Somehow, I learn to hate Lucius more and more every year. It seems he's got all that hair but nothing else up there!" Astoria and Maia chuckle at the same time.
"Okay but tell me about your summer! How's it going with Warrington?" Maia exclaimed, wanting to change the subject to anything but her father.
"Okay get this. The prick cheated on me!" Astoria rolled her eyes.
"That absolute twat! With who?!" Maia gasped.
"Some Ravenclaw chick. Ridiculous." Astoria groaned.
"What an arse." Maia replied, as their compartment door opened.
"Oh yeah an absolute tosspot, he is!" two red haired boys entered the compartment.
"Fuckin hell- What do you want, Weasley?" Maia said, looking at the boys.
"Which one of us are you talking to? Me or George? We're both Weasley's. Use that brain of yours, Black!" Fred chuckled.
"Shut it. Why are you even here? This is our compartment!" Maia groaned at him.
"We didn't see your name on it!" the boys said in unison.
"Come on. That was so bad." Astoria rolled her eyes at their joke.
"Ah, yes, but it is a classic!" Fred winked at Maia.
"Ugh- you guys are just-" before Maia finished her sentence, the train stopped.
"We can't be there already can we?" Astoria said, a concerned look on her face.
"Not possible." George replied.
"There's something getting on!" Fred looked out the window.
The air got colder, frost filled the windows. Fred immediately sat down next to Maia, getting away from the window. It felt as if all the happiness and joy had drained from the world. The four teens watched as a cloaked figure got closer to the compartment that they were in.
"What is that...?" Astoria whispered.
It got colder, as they saw the compartment handle unlock, and the door slowly opened. That's when Maia felt it, as though she was being drained of all hope. It wasn't the dementors kiss, that would've felt a lot worse. But she just felt lightheaded, and heard someone yelling. A man?
"No! I would never! Wait! Maia! Let me say goodbye! Starlight, I love you so much!"
She then fell backwards into Fred, not losing consciousness, but wasn't there.
"Maia! Can you hear me?" Astoria spoke up.
Maia snapped out of her trance, noticing she was laying on Fred, she sprang up off of him.
"Y-yeah.." She said, uncertain.
The compartment door opened again. It was a man. Was this the man who was yelling? No.. It couldn't have been. This man had some odd scars running across his face.
"Here, Maia, eat it. you'll feel better." the man said, handing her chocolate.
"How do you know my name..? Wait- I know you!" Maia said.
"I have to go talk to the driver now-" he said, beginning to walk out of the compartment.
"Wait!" Maia followed after him, the three other teens just watching the scene in confusion.
---
"You! Stop!" Maia caught up to the man.
"Maia-"
"You knew my dad. You knew me. You're-"
"Remus Lupin. Or-" He chuckled a bit. "You used to call me Uncle Moony."
"You- right. Right. Why are you here?" Maia asked, breathing out at the thought of the vivid memory.
"All will be revealed soon, little one. Head back to your friends, they all look very concerned for your wellbeing." He patted her head.
"Pft- Friends? Yeah- right. The Weasley Twins and I? Best of friends!" she thought, rolling her eyes, looking back up and the man was gone.
