"Well, hello, Peter," Remus forcefully smiled, "Long time, no see."

Maia recoiled at the sight of the man. The others in the room were visibly disgusted, Ron looking slightly more terrified than the rest.

"S- Sirius... R- Remus..." Peter's voice even sounded like a rat, all squeaky and such. "My friends... my old friends..."

Sirius tried to raise his wand at Peter, but Remus grabbed onto his wrist, putting his arm down.

Remus began speaking again, you could tell he was trying to hide how furious he was.

"We've been having a little chat, Peter, about what happened the night Lily and James died. You might have missed the finer points while you were squeaking around down there on the bed-"

Peter cut him off with a gasp, "Remus! You don't believe him, do you...? He tried to kill me, Remus!" Peter whined.

"So we've heard," Remus' tone was stern and cold. "I'd like to clear up one or two little matters with you, Peter, if you'll be so-"

"He's come to try and kill me again!" Peter cut him off again. "He killed Lily and James and now he's going to kill me too! You've got to help me, Remus!"

Sirius stood closer to Maia and Harry, looking at Peter with merciless eyes. Peter had sweat beating down his musty, rat like face.

"No one's going to try and kill you," Remus sighed, almost sounding disappointed. "until we've sorted a few things out."

Peter's eyes widened, and his voice sounded terribly shaky. "Sorted things out? I knew he'd come after me! I knew he'd be back for me! I've been waiting for this for twelve years!"

Remus scoffed, as he raised his eyebrow at Peter,"You knew Sirius was going to break out of Azkaban? When nobody has ever done it before?"

"He's got dark powers the rest of us can only dream of! How else did he get out of there?" Peter said frantically. "I suppose He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named taught him a few tricks!"

Sirius began laughing hysterically. "Voldemort, teach me tricks?"

Peter would pathetically flinch everytime Sirius spoke.

"What, scared to hear your old master's name?" Sirius continued to laugh. "I don't blame you, Peter. His lot aren't very happy with you, are they?"

"Don't know what you mean, Sirius..." Peter mumbled.

"You haven't been hiding from me for twelve years," Sirius smirked. "You've been hiding from Voldemort's old supporters." Sirius went on about how he would hear them in Azkaban, talking about how they think Peter is still dead, and that he betrayed everyone due to the downfall of Voldemort. "If they got wind that you were still alive, Peter..."

"Don't know... what you're talking about..." Peter sniffled, before turning to Remus desperately. "You don't believe this- this madness, Remus-"

"I must admit, Peter, I have difficulty in understanding why an innocent man would want to spend twelve years as a rat." Remus remarked.

Peter's voice was brought to a shriek. "Innocent, but scared! If Voldemort's supporters were after me, it was because I put one of their best men in Azkaban- the spy, Sirius Black!"

The four students were wagging their heads back and forth between Remus, Sirius, and Peter, waiting for the rebuttal to every statement.

Sirius' face turned to one of pure anger.

"How dare you?!" Sirius gritted his teeth. "I, a spy for Voldemort? When did I ever sneak around people who were stronger and more powerful than myself? But you, Peter- I'll never understand why I didn't see you were the spy from the start. You always liked big friends who'd look after you, didn't you? It used to be us. Me and Remus..." he took a deep breath. "and James...."
