Christmas was approaching, meaning Maia would soon return to Malfoy Manor with her cousin, no matter how pissed she was with her aunt and uncle.
"Maia, you could stay here with me if you would like. No school, we'd have plenty of time together." Remus smiled at her, as they walked the courtyard of Hogwarts.
"As much as I would love that, Uncle Moony, my uncle would never allow it. I have to attend their stupid pureblood get together." she rolled her eyes.
Remus froze. "What?"
"Oh- yeah- their dumb get together. It's a family tra-"
"No- not that- no. What- what did you call me?" Remus looked at her, with a small smile.
"Oh. I- I'm sorry... I thought it would be okay, because we've gotten so close these past few months-" Maia rambled.
"Don't apologize. Please- I- I'm very happy. Very happy you feel comfortable enough to call me that again."
Maia not only heard the name from when the two first met, but also found it written on many polaroids that Remus had with him, so she felt it was an appropriate name for him.
She smiled at him, before being pulled in to a familial embrace. "Thank you."
"For what, little one?" Remus pulled away from the hug, placing his hands on her shoulders.
"For being there." Maia grinned, she felt happier than she had been in a while when she spent time with Remus. He was her family, even only knowing him a couple months, minus the first 3 years of her life.

Later that day was the next Hogsmeade trip, Maia was excited to buy Christmas presents for everyone. Gift giving was one of her favorite things to do. She was running over her list with Astoria, as she had already been crossed off of it.
"Okay- I still have Draco, Auntie Cissy-"
"Sure you don't have Fred on that list? I mean- after the quidditch match-"
"Tori! Drop it! Please!" Maia groaned.
"It's very difficult when- oh! It's as if he heard us." Astoria pointed, seeing Fred and George walk out of Honeydukes.
"Yeah- no. We are not doing this right now. Let's go!" Maia grabbed Astoria's hand to lead her to a different shop, to find a present for Remus.
"Me personally? I'd get him something deep and from the heart." Astoria told her.
"You personally? You're just in love with him." Maia rolled her eyes.
"Precisely!" Astoria chuckled.
Maia kept looking around the store, coming across books, quills, journals, and more stationary stuff. She got to the back of the store to where the clothes were. That's where she saw it. A sweater the exact same style as the ones he wore in those old polaroids.
"It's perfect!" Maia smiled.
"An old sweater?" Astoria raised her eyebrow.
"He'll love it." Maia laughed.
"Right.. whatever you say then!" Astoria said, picking up a cute pair of earrings.

Maia had finished her shopping, the sweater for Remus, a candy basket from Honeydukes for Draco, and a nice necklace for Narcissa. The two were going to head to the Three Broomsticks for butterbeer, but it was closed.
"Closed to the public? Wonder what that's about." Astoria said, Maia shrugged.
"Hey cousin! Greengrass!" Draco called out, walking towards them.
