Lucius grabbed Maia's wrist and apparated back to Malfoy Manor. She still hadn't gotten used to that feeling completely, so when they reappeared she immediately felt sick.

Lucius scoffed at her, "Yes, yes... get it out."  he strutted back into the manor, Maia, wobbly, following behind him.

The door closed with a loud slam, startling Narcissa, who was just drinking tea in the foyer of the manor. "Oh dear!" she scrambled out of her seat, rushing over, embracing Maia in a hug. "I am so relieved you are safe!"

"Yes, darling, its all rather wonderful, however," Lucius spoke sternly. "We still need to talk about the matters of company."

Narcissa frowned, "Now, Lucius. All that should matter is she's safe! They saved her life!"

"They could've infested her head with those blood traitor ideologies-"

Maia was completely over it, and snapped. "So?! I never agreed with the pure blood ones either! With all due respect," she meant no respect whatsoever. "you seem to forget, I'm a half-blood!"

Lucius inhaled angrily, opening his mouth to speak, but is cut off by Maia again, yelling as she began to storm away. "Oh I know! How shameful! Your own niece, a filthy half-blood!"

As they heard a door upstairs slam, Lucius went to follow after her, Narcissa sighing in frustration. Lucius stormed up the stairs, walking towards Maia's door, until Draco peaked out of his room.

"What's all the noise about?" he questioned.

Lucius smiled with a hint of anger. "Your cousin is being a stubborn brat again."

"Lucius!" Narcissa smacked him on the arm. "You know what. I am going to talk to her. You will only make matters worse." she huffed, walking towards Maia's room.

---

Maia had been pacing around her room for a while, before throwing herself on her bed. She stared at the ceiling, pushing back the tears pricking her eyes. Sitting in silence for a couple moments, until hearing light knocking on her door.

"Maia? Can I come in?" she heard her aunt's soft voice muffled through the door.

"Go away." Maia spoke coldy. Narcissa knew that tone all too well.

"Please, love." Narcissa pleaded.

There was a moment of silence, before Maia sniffled a bit, "Fine. Yeah- come in."

Narcissa walked through her door, lightly shutting it behind her. Maia sat up on her bed, as Narcissa walked and sat next to her. Maia was having deja vu from the summer before. Narcissa lightly stroked Maia's hair, before pulling her into her chest, Maia appreciated the embrace, but didn't return it.

"I'm very glad your safe, Maia. No matter who it was that saved you." Narcissa smiled.

Maia sighed contently for a second, before Narcissa pulled away. "I'm sorry about, Lucius. He's just-"

"Don't apologize for him, Auntie Cissa." Maia said, with the same tone as before.

"Merlin, you are just like him." Narcissa mumbled, pushing Maia's hair back. "He never liked Lucius either."

"My dad?" she tilted her head. "I know. I've heard that a lot the past few months."

"No- not- not him." Narcissa bit her tongue, "Just forget I said anything, alright love?" Narcissa smiled, patting her head again. "Why don't you- uh- write Astoria? I miss the dear girl, would love to see her again."

"But-"

Narcissa had already walked out of her room. Maia moved her gaze from her door to beside it, where her vanity stood. She noticed a good pile of unopened letters. Her eyes widened, as she stumbled as fast as she could. Picking up the letters, she began to flip through them.
