it was finally our turn on the swing, matt chose the outer swing while i chose the one to the right of him on the inside. i had always gone on these type of rides with my dad on random weekends. we'd come here, walk around, eat, play games, go on rides and it would always feel like a dream. matt and i got strapped in, now waiting for the ride to start.

"fucking hate this ride," he said, looking away and mumbling but knowing i'd still hear.

"what? i thought you said nick did," i said as my eyes widened and a smile grew on my face.

"well, so do i but at least not as much as he does." he laughed, looking back at me.

"i wouldn't of told you to come with me if you didn't like it!" i said, laughing too.

he shrugged as the worker controlling the ride gave us all a thumbs up. the ride started moving slowly, building up speed before going really fast. matt gasped as the ride began speeding up, holding onto the chains that held us really tight.

i started laughing at him before starting to look ahead of me, imaging i was flying. i'd always do that as a kid and my dad went along with it, this time, i didn't have him to feed my delusions.

it had felt like seconds before we started slowling down and lowering back toward the ground. i let my feet touch the ground before unbuckling myself. matt was already off and running away from the ride.

"wait up!" i said, struggling to get off. once i managed to get unbuckled, i ran off into the crowd too, not being able to find matt.

"matt? nick?" i yelled, still looking around. it had looked like chris and cora had gotten bored and walked away too, leaving me alone by myself. i hated these big crowds, especially when people were continuously yelling from all directions. i stopped yelling when i realized that there was no way i was going to find anyone in such a big crowd.
