it was nearing the end of the day, xavier carpooled with the triplets home and madi and lizzie stayed over to help clean up once they had left.
"i'm still thinking about the question you asked in the kitchen earlier," madi said, throwing away some trash.
"what question?" lizzie questioned, her eyebrow raising as she folded some blankets and draped it over the armrest of the coach.
"i asked madi if two people were still considered friends if they had kissed." i said, helping lizzie clean up the living room as madi made her way from the kitchen toward us.
"and i said no," she said.
"what made you ask that?" lizzie asked, finishing up on the couch before plopping herself down on it. i sighed and sat next to her, madi throwing some more trash away before coming to do the same on the other side of me. "is this about chris?" lizzie asked, almost as if she could see right through my eyes.
i nodded slowly, fidgeting with my fingers on my lap. "we literally kissed, basically made out and he thinks we're still friends? i don't know what to do that will make him see me as someone more than a 'good friend' anymore." i sighed, looking at the sympathetic looks both lizzie and madi were sending me.
"babe, he's probably just scared to say what he wants to without making you uncomfortable. you said he waited for you to kiss him first, right?" lizzie said, placing a hand on my lap as a form of comfort while talking.
"yeah, he like sat still until i eventually kissed him." i replied, looking back down at my fingers moving against each other at a rapid speed.
