"what? my eyes flickered between matt and the people behind him. at first, i had only noticed xavier until someone else creeped up from behind.

"hey, aria." she said, forcing a smile.

"lizzie?" i squinted. i felt like my eyes had been playing tricks on me, there was no way matt would bring lizzie with him after everything that happened.

i got up from the couch, slowly approaching lizzie as xavier and matt sat down on the couch next to chris and nick.

lizzie took in a breath, watching as i stood a few feet away from her. "look, i know you don't want to talk anymore but i just wanted to apologize. i know i did some horrible things and i don't think you'll ever forgive me but im so sorr-"

i ran towards lizzie and wrapped my arms around her, interrupting what she was saying. lizzie didn't hesitate to do the same, engulfing me in a hug.

"no, i should be sorry." i said, finally pulling away from the hug. "i was being childish about everything. you're my bestfriend, you didn't deserve all the bad things i said to you."

"i missed you so much, aria." lizzie said, smiling brighter than ever. i immediately smiled too, before turning to matt.

"did you do this on purpose?" i asked, watching as matt shrugged and look at xavier.

"i saw xavier and i was talking about how much happier you are now that you and chris are good." he paused, looking between chris and i. "he said it would probably make you even happier if you and lizzie were good, too."

i looked at xavier, my smile growing. "we are so back." lizzie said, placing her hand on my shoulder as we both walked back towards the couch.
