Chapter 50

After the coach had yelled at them to hurry up, Jungkook left the locker room with his footballer teammates, but only after kissing Taehyung one last time.

Taehyung stayed behind, watching the boys leave. He smiled to himself as he looked down at the flower in his hand. It was so pretty.

Taehyung let out a sigh then finally walked towards his locker to place the flower inside. After that, he headed to his classroom. He might've been a bit late, but fortunately, the teacher let it pass.

As usual, Jimin was next to him, but what surprised him was seeing Ari sitting behind them.

"Where did you ran off to?" She asked with a low voice as Taehyung flipped his book open.

"I was in the locker room" He simply said, rolling his eyes.

"With Jungkook, huh?" Jimin teased with a small smirk.

Taehyung didn't reply but the pink on his cheeks was enough as an answer

"Finals are next week and you're busy making out with Jeon Jungkook?" Ari asked with a tiny grin spread across her lips.

"I thought you two were on a break..." Jimin said pointedly, looking at Taehyung with a glare that demanded instant clarification.

"We were, but it's over" Taehyung said with a sigh, "Look, we'll talk about it during lunch break, okay?"

He was secretly begging them to stop pestering him with questions he wasn't ready to answer.

They were in class, for fuck's sake!

It was their last day of normal classes before next week's finals!

It was their last normal Friday...

"We'll definitely talk about this later" Jimin said before turning his full attention to the teacher at front of the class.

The first and the second classes of the morning, went pretty smoothly.

To his luck, Ari stopped following them.

When lunch break came, they all sat at their usual table. Taehyung began explaining to the boys his decision to take a year off, and they were all surprisingly supportive. Jin even offered to help him find a job.

Then, out of nowhere, Ari stormed in and pulled the chair next to Hoseok.

Usually, she would sit down with her own friends, but today apparently, she decided to annoy her brother.

"You wouldn't believe what just happened" she announced as she casually picked fries from Taehyung's plate.

Her brother raised an eyebrow at her attitude but didn't bother stopping her.

"Namjoon just texted me!" She declared, a bit too loud for Taehyung's liking. "He... apologized for everything..."

Wait-what?

Namjoon texted her??

Jimin, who had been silent the whole time, finally spoke, "Namjoon? Your ex?"

"Yes" Ari nodded, "We broke up a few weeks ago. We shouldn't have broken up in the first place. It was all my father's fault!"

"Yeah, but Namjoon was greedy" Taehyung jumped in, he settled his fork on the table, "He was easily manipulable because, at some point, he wanted the benefits more than your relationship"

Ari sighed, she played with her food before speaking, "It wasn't always like that, though. When we met each other, it was great. He was a such a gentleman and we love each other" she looked up to meet Taehyung's gaze, "Father ruined everything for us. Namjoon just wanted to please, dad..."
