Chapter 3
Alexander’s POV
Once I disappeared, I just saw a long vortex made of circular machines which seemed awfully strange. The vortex seemed to go on for a long time. I was just floating through the million circles that were around. I closed my eyes and when I opened them, I found myself lying on sand.
‘Sand?’ I thought to myself. I stood up and brushed the sand off my face. I looked around. ‘A beach? Where the hell am I?’
I looked around and watched the ocean waves crash against the sand. I picked up a pebble and threw it towards the sea. I walked on the beach, hoping I would find someone. As I walked, I found trees on my left hand side. As I continued to walk on, I heard the sounds of metal clashing together coming from behind the trees. I turned my gaze to that side. I walked over towards the sound. I walked silently towards it. I pushed the tree branches out of the way.
What I saw made me absolutely confused. I saw a guy with blonde hair poking out of his red helmet in a sumo suit. Strangely enough, he could move pretty fast in it. He was exchanging blows with a girl with blonde hair. She was wearing a karate uniform with a white belt. I tilted my head as she couldn’t get one hit on the sumo suit. If she did, the guy just kicked her onto her back.
“Had enough?” the guy asked.
She looked up at him. “Take that suit off and I’ll tell you if I’ve had enough.”
“No can do, princess,” he answered. “You know you need to learn hand to hand combat. Even though you can fry them with one touch.”
Another guy was running up to them. He had sandy coloured hair, wearing jeans and a green shirt. “Oh,” he said as he saw the guy in the sumo suit. “That’s a good look for you.”
The blonde guy stepped back. “Why don’t you fight her? Oh and we’re planning on having barbecue tonight!”
I narrowed my eyes at them. ‘They could be the people I need,’ I thought to myself. ‘They seem good.’ The girl stood up and looked around.
“What’s wrong?” the blonde guy asked.
She looked around and her gaze turned to the tree I was hiding behind. “I think there’s someone behind that tree.”
That was when the blonde guy looked straight at me. ‘Oh crap,’ I thought to myself again. ‘She’s a sensor!’
The blonde guy came charging up to me. I stood properly. He grabbed my collar. “Who the hell are you and what the hell are you doing in the Drake compound?!”
I tilted my head. “Drake compound?”
He threw me across the field. The girl narrowed her eyes at me too. I stood up. This guy had a lot of power so I had to be careful if I was going to fight him.
“Don’t play dumb!” he yelled.
He charged at me again. I dodged his fist as quick as I could. It was difficult but I did my best. I backed away from him and went into camouflage mode. I moved away from him and ran towards the trees again.
He looked around. “Helen, look for him.”
The girl nodded and looked around and pointed straight at me. “There.”
I cursed and jumped away from my current location towards the house. But just before I could get towards the house, someone grabbed the back of my shirt and threw me on the ground again. I would’ve had a broken rib but I healed myself. The sandy haired guy put his foot on my stomach.
“I’ll ask you one more time,” the blonde guy told me as he walked towards me. “Who the hell are you and what the hell are you doing here?”
I looked at him and the girl then back at the two guys. “Wind,” I said. A gust of wind appeared to push the sandy haired guy off. It was weak so I kicked him off. “I’m not here to fight.”
The two gave me a strange look. It looked like the blonde was analysing me. “Why are you here?” he asked me. I didn’t answer. He realised I wasn’t going to say anything so he folded his arms. “Fight me.”
I raised my eyebrow. “Why?”
“This is the Drake Compound. No intruders are allowed here. I’m surprised you even got this far in.”
I narrowed my eyes at his suit. “Are you seriously asking me to fight? You’re the one in the sumo suit.”
The girl slapped her hand over her mouth. She was shaking uncontrollably similar to the sandy haired guy who was smirking. The guy narrowed his eyes at me. The guy took his suit off to show his blue top and jeans. He gave the girl a look before she burst out laughing.
She pointed at him. “That’s what you get!!” she laughed. “That’s for…acting all bossy to me!”
He gave her a look then looked at me. I narrowed my eyes at him. He stood in his fight pose and I did too. He ran at me. I noticed he had left his stomach off guard. I bent backwards when he extended his fist. I kicked his stomach and he stumbled backwards. I stood up. I ran at him and punched him. He stood and attacked me. I wasn’t able to hit him or dodge his fast punches. I was continuously hit by his fists.
I jumped backwards. “Wind!”
The gust of wind I summoned pushed the guy away. The wind took the guy towards the air but he came back against the will of my magic. I was surprised but I didn’t show it. I ran at him and camouflaged into the forest and managed to kick him down. He stood up and put his fists up as I aimed to kick him again. He blocked my attack with his arms which were crossed in an X form. I used his arms to jump backwards. I knew he now had the advantage. He ran at me and continued to try and punch me. I managed to block two punches but he was too fast to me. He punched me continuously and I saw him smirking. He grabbed my collar and threw me on the ground again. He put his foot on my stomach.
I healed myself as he gave me a look. “I was right. You’re no demigod.”
I continued to heal myself. “I never said I was one.”
“What are you then?”
“You’re a demigod. What is a demigod?”
The girl and the sandy haired guy came closer. “He doesn’t know a thing about us,” she said. She looked at me. “How did you get here?”
I looked at the two. I smirked. “I think you three are the ones I’m looking for.”
