Chapter 6
Alexander’s POV
We appeared in a rundown area, absolutely gloomy with no sign of brightness. Archer gaped at the dead town we had arrived in. Hector and Helen took their weapons out in case. I turned to look behind me to see that there was no portal there.
“Well, this is such a lively place!!” Archer said sarcastically. “I can’t believe I came from Greymalkin Island for this!”
“Shut up and start walking,” I told him.
Helen was about to say something but we were too late to realise that we were surrounded by weird looking things with blades for arms. They were oozing darkness. Helen and Hector lifted their weapons.
“What the hell are they?” Hector yelled.
“How the hell should I know?” I replied. “Just find a way and run!”
I summoned a little fire and burned the monster and led the way away from them. The others followed but there were more running our way. We all stopped and stood back to back. The others were attacking with their abilities while I used the limited amount of offence magic I knew.
“Damn it!” Helen cursed. “We’re surrounded! What do we do?”
“Hey!!” we heard someone yell. “The party’s here!!”
There were two blurs running past us. One was blue, white and red while the other was blue, white and black. Before we knew it, all the monsters that surrounded us had been cut, burned or ripped apart. They all burst into a vomit coloured liquid which I had never seen before. It was revolting.
The blurs came towards us. The first guy that approached us had white hair up to his shoulders pushed backwards with blue eyes, wearing a red hoodie under a blue trench coat and blue pants with his brown boots. The other guy had spiky white hair and blue eyes. He was scowling at the other guy. He was wearing a black top and black pants with his brown boots under a long blue trench coat like the other guy but this guy had snake-like designs on it. The first guy’s right arm was covered but the other sleeve was rolled up. The first one had a red sword with a motorbike handle on it on his back with a double barrelled gun. The other guy had a long thin katana. I narrowed my eyes at them. Something was up.
“What’re you guys doing here?” the first guy asked. “It’s too dangerous if you can’t fight.”
“Of course we can fight!!” Archer yelled. “We’re all better than Alex anyway!”
I narrowed my eyes at him. “Shut up.” I looked at the two. “Who are you?”
“We’re demon hunters. Did you not know what you just faced?” we shook our heads. “They are demons. Stay away from them. They’ll-”
“I’m sure they get it, Nero,” the other guy said. “Get the hint. If you can’t fight, don’t get out of your homes.”
“If you’re demon hunters, can you prove it?” Helen asked. “What makes you say you’re demon hunters? What if you just wanted to see how we fight and act like you’re on our side?”
The two looked at each other. The first guy burst out laughing. “You’re funny! Why would you think that anyway?” he gestured to the other guy. “Sure he’s a little cold but he isn’t harmful.”
“Are you done?” the other guy asked.
The first smirked. “Well, you nearly killed me last time. I would rather embarrass you in front of people who don’t know us.”
