Raven POV

I woke with a jump and fell out of my chair. I blinked. I had fallen asleep at my workbench again. I stood up and looked at the metal on my workbench. I could clearly see my reflection In the shiny metal. Same green eyes with ginormous bags under them and jet black hair.

My stomach growled and I realized that I hadn't eaten supper last night. after the little party we had I went straight to my room and started working on... whatever the thing sitting on my workbench was. jay had come in and helped me for about an hour before telling me goodnight and heading back to his own room. I had then stayed up for who knows how long before drifting off to sleep.

I opened my door and stepped into the hall. I heard the fist to face 2 theme song coming from the boys' room so I assumed they were awake as well. I walked down the hall to the kitchen and opened the fridge to find something to eat. I hadn't even had time to look before the alarm sounded. "what?" I groan.

I heard footsteps down the hall and the swinging of my door opening. "Raven?" someone called. I peered down the hall and saw kai. "I'm right here." I say rubbing my eye. "We have a snake sighting. come on!" he says running down the hall. my stomach rumbled again. "but-"

"Come on!" he shouted before disappearing from sight. I sighed and jogged down the hall to the bridge. I opened the door and saw the others gathered around the computer. I sulked over to them and peered over their shoulders to see the screen.

"Three snakes in the forest." Nya replied as cole groaned. "only three?" he whined. "So, who wants to go?" Nya asks turning to look at us. there was a long silence. I rolled my eyes. "fine, i'll go." I groan as they turn to look at me. "really?" zane questions. "pfff, three snakes? piece of cake." I say turning and heading back down the hall to my room.

I changed into my gi, grabbed my bow and arrows, then quickly stop by the kitchen. I opened the fridge and looked for something to eat when Cole came into the room. I turned to look at him. "you sure you want to go alone?" he asks. I feel around the shelf and stuff something that felt like a small metal box in my pocket. I closed the fridge and smiled at him.

"Thanks for your concern but I'll be fine." I say patting him on the shoulder then walking with him onto the deck where Nya was landing the bounty in a clearing in the forest. after he gave my shoulder  a squeeze I pulled my mask over my face, slipped down the anchor chain and took off running into the forest.

I sprinted through the woods before coming to a stop to catch my breath. "I really gotta get into shape." I scold myself in between my deep breaths. I looked around me but couldn't see anything through the trees. Maybe if I got to higher ground I could find the snakes.

I grabbed the branch of the pine tree I was leaning on and began climbing until I was high enough that I could find the snakes. I moved to the other side of the trunk, still looking at the forest floor when I got the scare of my life.

A blur of black flew inches away from the tree I was in causing the branches to sway back and forth and me to almost fall out of the tree.

What the heck was that?!

I peered through the branches and saw it circling back. I couldn't believe what I was seeing. "is that a dragon?" I say in bewilderment. it flew back to the tree and snatched me from the branches with its feet.

As I dangled upside down from the dragon's claws, with one hand trying to grab onto my arrows that were spilling out and the other keeping my shirt from flying up, I was more annoyed than scared. I leaned up and repeatedly hit its foot with my bow.

"let me go you stupid sack of crap!" I shout as the dragon swoops down and drops me face first into the dirt. I sat up just as the dragon landed a few feet away from me, a murderous look in its dark green eyes. I reached into my sheath and took out the single arrow that remained. I pulled out my bow and aimed the arrow right between its eyes. I froze. It was so amazing. I lowered my bow to the ground and removed my hood. The dragon gave me a skeptical and confused look, then snorting before turning and soaring into the blue sky.

My eyes followed the mystical creature until it was out of sight, beyond the trees. The logical part of me said that following it was insane, but the illogical part of me said to screw the sane. I chased through the woods after the dragon.
