Raven POV

He looked at me a few moments, then a look of recognition came across his face. He loosened his grip and I jerked my arm away from him. "Raven...i-I didn't recognize you." he stuttered. "oh, so you've been gone long enough to not know who I am?" I spat. "No i-"

"Save it!" I cut him off. "So all this time when I thought you were being a dancer, you were a ninja?" I ask. He only nods. "dad was so proud of you, it's going to break his heart when he finds out." I say tears threatening to fall. "you can't tell him." Cole says taking a step closer.

"And why not?" I say taking a step away from him. "because....because...." he stuttered. "because you know I'm right." I say. there's a silence that seems to go on forever. I can only find three words to say. "did you know?" a look of confusion came across his face. "know what?" he asks.

"How heartbroken I was when you left! You're my brother Cole! I didn't want to see you go! Mom didn't want to either! She didn't eat or sleep, and when she got sick dad was too busy to care! I had no one to turn to!" I yell hot tears appearing at the corners of my eyes.

"You still have dad, you can turn to him." he says calmly. "I had to bury our mother alone!" I shout allowing tears to roll down my cheeks. cole and I were both to hurt to say anything. I glanced at him one last time before turning and walking away. The day was too sunny and happy for what just happened. How could he do this to me? Run off chasing a stupid dream and leave me alone just waiting for my mother, our mother, to die.

I unlocked my door and stepped inside. I shut the door, and slid down to the floor hugging my legs to my chest. Smokey trotted over to me, tail wagging. He licked my face before laying down with his head in my lap. A small smile appeared on my face as i stroked his black fur. The thoughts running through my mind made my smile disappear as quickly as it arrived.
