I'm dead. Well, Kind of.
Nevermind, I'm absolutely dead. But it was a great time ago, to be honest.
I live in the same mansion I where I died, around two centuries ago, to be even more exact.I couldn't live anywhere else though.
I was twenty. And I will always be.
The name is Adelaide. Adelaide McCarthy.
About my dear mansion:
It is really huge, with lots of rooms, stairs and corridors.
I was in one of those corridors, passing by, until I saw someone. That day, my after life would change forever. Until that day, it was all really monotone, despising the fact that I'm dead.
Well, back to the infamous day:There was someone in my house! It was a young boy.
Had he always lived there? In my house?!He looked at me and directed the flashlight at my face, I mean, I don't think he saw my face exactly or something. Until he said:
--- Hello??! Is there someone here with me?
Was he actually seeing me? Then, he shouted again:
--- Who is there?? Reveal yourself!
He sounded brave, his voice consistent.
Quite surprising.
He wanted to see me? Is that it? So seeing me is what he would get. He is in my house, I will not be kind. Who is kind to intruders, anyway? So the lights started to go on and off, the windows and the doors all closed at the same time, making a huge noise. He started to look a bit more scared, in fact. Oh, and yes, it was me. Absolutely.
--- What is it? Stop that! Now!!
I laughed. I laughed hard, like, really. It is quite fun, you know, to see them like this, all threatened and afraid, somehow.
--- I'm done!! I can hear ya, alright? Reveal yourself, thing!
What he just called me? Alright, things were going to get a bit more intense.
I laughed, and at the same time, some screams could be heard, some babies crying, pure chaos. Nothing I wasn't used to.
But if he wanted to see me, then he would. In the middle of this confusion, I entered my room, behind the corridor walls. My bed was close to the cradle, I sat by the window, and I started to sing a lullaby song... A lullaby my mom used to sing to me back then.
I could still see him after it all.
He turned around, in the direction where my song was coming from.
I stopped to sing but my voice still was in the echos.. So I started to call him, in a whisper:
--- Come here, boy!
--- What? Who is it? Where are you? Stop doing this!!!
--- Don'tya wanna see me? So come here...
--- W-Where are you?
--- In the walls..
I said it, then I chuckled. He no longer looked terrified, but curious. He really wanted to see what I was. Well, nice for me. This way would be easier. Nobody likes unexpected and incovinient guests, right? So what do we do with them? Get rid of them cordially, of course.
If we don't see any advantages wr could get first, obvioulsy.
He came, he came closer to the walls, where my room was. So I said again:
--- Behind them.
He did not hesitate, I wonder why. He started do use his own flashlight to hit the wall, the wallpaper rent easily, and the pieces of wood could be easily taken off as well. He proceded.
