Kevin's POV:

--- Where was she when I had the heart
attack?

--- Who? The girl? Actually I...I don't know, I was carrying Cole to the ambulance.

--- Oh yeah, that's right.

Carlo whispered:

--- Why the hell did you tell my brother you saw his soul?

--- I did? Sorry,  still kinda dizzy.

He was not dizzy at all.

--- Could you take me to my mother's, bro?

--- Your mom? Have you guys started to talk again?

--- Not yet. Well, that's the point. Could you go with me there?

--- Of course just let me put a jacket on then we go, alright?

--- Okie dokie.

--- No one says that.

--- Sorry. Still kinda dizzy, remember?

--- I know. Let's get going.

--- Cole, do you want to go with us?

--- Not really.

Kevin shrugged his shoulders.

--- No prob, bob.

Carlo and Kevin got in the car. Carlo started driving, his mom lived in the neighboor city.

--- So, you good?

--- Yeah, the headache passed mostly and--

--- Not about it, dude.

--- About what, then?

---- You know, the girl, Ada. You were really weird about it earlier.

--- Sure thing, right.

--- C'mon, did she dump you?

--- We were not dating.

---Are you sure? It pretty much looked like it.

--- Did you see where she went? In which direction?

--- No, fella. I already told ya. See? You are all weird about it.

--- I'm gonna tell you something, but promise you will not call me crazy nor insane.

Carlo raised his eyebrows.

--- Do you have..a religion or something?

--- Not really, dude.

--- Do you believe in...after life? Like, after life world. Ghosts, I mean.

--- Kev, the fuck you are talking about?

Kevin chuckled sadly.

--- Nevermind.

"I see dead people"

--- Maybe Cole is right and I'm just losing my mind.

--- Now you have to tell me why such weird questions.

"I've been taliking to a ghost for several months"

--- Nah, dude, I'm good. Thanks for the worry, but I'm ok.

--- No you are not. I'll stop the car.

Kevin took a deep breath.

--- There's no need. Listen...I see...things.

--- You high?

--- I said listen. You asked, now you are going to listen.

---- Alright, calm down.

--- Sorry, it's all just really unhinged. I...I've seen dead people. Satisfied?

Carlo laughed. Like, a lot.

--- Great joke, bro. Now, what's the real matter?

They arrived at Kevin's mother.

--- I was dumped. You were right. I was just embarassed with it. You can wait in the car if you want and jus--

--- I knew it had something to do with the girl. It was in your eyes, man.

--- Was it, I mean, what?

He chuckled and switched subjects:

--- You wanna talk to her alone, don't ya?
You and your mom. Totally got it.

Kevin nodded.

--- Good Luck. I'll go back home, there's some stuff I need to help my brother with and, you know. If you need to, call me, okay?

--- Sure thing. Thanks, man.

--- That's quite all right. No worries.

He smiled at me.
A great friend I have made. Without even noticing.
Funny how I only became friends with him because of Ada. To treat him. That was not fair.
Great thing it didn't happen like our first plan of action required it to.

Our plane, mine and Ada's.

As Carlo goes away I imagine how much time he'd spent by his brother's grave if our first plane, in fact, happened.

The loss and pain is his eyes, how would that be?
And I would have been the indicted of taking that sparkle out of him. Out of his life.

Good think I didn't.
He didn't deserve me.
Not at all.

One thing I noticed after our conversation:
Carlo saw her toao.
Adelaide appeared to him.
He saw her too. He talked to her too.
But I didn't have the courage to tell him about her.
At least I was not insane.

I tried to move those thoughts away from my mind.
Didn't even need to put a lot of effort on it.
Weirder thoughts arrived.
They were about my mother. Our last conversation.

I was staring at the handle, suddenly hesitating.

That was when a soft breeze messed my hair.

 A cold breeze.

It turned into a heavy wind, which took of a flower from the tree's branches above him.

A gerbera flower fell in my head. I took it and looked around. It meaned restart.

--- Thanks, Ada.

I grabbed the keys he still had and put on the lock. Then, opened the front door slowly.

--- Count to three.

I sighted once again before whispering to myself:

--- I'm home, mother.
