Adelaide's POV:

It's noon already.
Probably the dinner already ended.
Probably the time I will get there to do what I told him I would do.
Probably time to go.
Even because, I'm ready.

He left the door open, so I could go.
How would I tell him all of this?! Would I?
I was thinking about it, of just doing what I always wanted to. Get those stupid thoughts out of my head.
Even because, what would he say about it?
"Why didn't you told me that before?"
"I don't know, Kevin. I don't know why. I don't even know if it is right."
I didn't even know anything anymore.
I knew I had to go.
So I went. The wind whispering in my ear as I walked down the street.
A kid was passing by with her mother, probably coming home from somewhere. The mother was in a hurry. The kid wanted to stop and take rocks from the ground.
Well, I was in a hurry too. I was desperate, I was going to do what I always wanted to. Trying to want it. But not so sure. Because I needed to explain, but how could I if I didn't before? How could I envolve another one in my own mess? Now I couldn't get that undone so easily. Not at all.
The child looked at me. I was sure she stared me in the eyes. I even looked back, there was no one behind me.
I swallowed dryly. I nodded.
Her look was intimidating. Or I just so scared a fly would already make me freak out. In this case, it was a blonde little girl.

--- She looks so sad, mommy!
--- Wow Natalie that's good!
--- No mom, the lady, why is she so sad?

The mother stoped and heard the question, now paying attention to her.

--- Which lady, sweetie?
--- That one.
She pointed at me.

Her mom looked at me too.

--- She's there?

I was in a hurry too, so I sort of started to run to the Mansion.

--- Not anymore, mommy, she's going away.

---- Is she your imaginary friend, darling?

I didn't stay there long enough to hear what Natalie answered.
That scared me.
So, in the same hurry, already out of breath, I got in front of their mainly gates.
Huh, not the pearly gates yet. For the 1000th time. Not the pearly ones. Miller's one.
I saw Kevin in their backyard. I think he just shorted my name.
That's not exactly how it works
Then, while heading myself towards him, I said lowly:
"I'm not a lamp Genius, I'm just dead, Kevin"

I got in front of him. He could see me, right?

--- Adelaide?

--- I don't have super powers, you know.

--- Oh, thanks God, you are here already. Wait, where are you?

---- Here.

He saw me in that moment, sat in the floor, my head down, in front of him.

--- Now you see?
--- Now I do.

I sighted.

--- So it's time, huh?
---- About that... I need to talk to you.

Instead of telling me to get up, he sat by my side.

---Its time, that's what you said, yeah?
--- Yup. So, let's head in? Or...
He sighted now.
He got up, I grabbed his wrist. I didn't know I could do that.
--- Wait.
He looked at me.
--- Wait, please.
He looked  my dagger out of his pocket, I thought he was showing me he was going to use it, that it's okay and we were going to make it together.
My desparate look met his. I couldn't be able to stop him anymore at his point. It was stupid even to bring out the subject.

He kept trying to get inside, looking determined. Then, with a sight that seemed more like a sad chuckle, he asked me:

--- You were not still going to make it, right?

I couldn't read in his face if he was mad about it or...feeling the same.

--- Actually, I wanted to talk to you..as well.

--- Are you mad at me, Kevin?

He laughed, relieved?:

--- Why would I be? I always wanted to help you, that's what I first said, didn't I?

--- Because of your mom and all.

--- At first, yes, a bit. But, I found myself halfway through it really wanting to help you just for the fact of...helping you.
I just didn't have the courage to...

--- To tell me?
--- What?
--- To tell me that was not the way neither you and me would get peace?
--- Yes. I...I can't deny, I was trying to figure out how to say it to you this last weeks but...
--- How would I react? Would I be mad?
--- Are you?
--- No, I'm alright.
--- What? You mean you...
--- I didn't have the courage to talk to you either. I went here today trying to want to do it, when I discovered that, weirdly, even after all the suffering, I wouldn't be able to do....what I wanted to do.
--- Well, I guess it makes us even.
--- Yeah, I guess it does, right?

At this point I was nearly crying.

---- What's the plan now?

I was thinking.

--- What would you do?

--- You still want him to understand what he did, right?

--- Yeah.

--- Why don't you just...tell him?

--- You mean, talk to him?

--- Yeah. I think you need to hear...

Then we said together;
--- An apology.

--- I never wanted revenge. Justice isn't always revenge.

--- You wanted him to apologize and go on, so you could too.

I laughed. All of those years and I couldn't find it out.

--- More of a hundred years and I didn't find it ou--

--- At least we found it now, together.

I remained quiet

--- You know, it also took me long enough to notice I'm not mad at my mom either...I just wanted to talk to her. Maybe say sorry, maybe listen to it..or..I..

--- How long?

He smiled before answering me.

--- Till now.

Cole opened the door to see if Kevin was still there as he said:

--- C'mon, Ada. Let's get this done. Together, as I promised to you.
Ah, I think that's yours as well

He handed me my dagger back.
He headed inside, as I followed him.
