(Leo's POV)
While Rocky slept, Jason and I discussed our next stop in our quest. "Well, we gotta find out where the Hunters were last." Jason said, "Then we find Aeolus, who will tell us where Hera is." I sighed, "You make this sound so easy, Jason."
He chuckled, "I wish it was that easy." He looked down at the sleeping Rocky, she was finally relaxed from the whole experience with Medea. We opened Coach's cage and let him out. He was snoring behind Jason, surprisingly holding on.
I heard creaking again and looked at Festus, "You can do it, buddy." I told him. He creaked as though he was saying, "I'll try." I looked over at Jason, "I don't know how long Festus will last. After the crash at the warehouse, he didn't look so good."
After I said that, Festus' eyes dulled again. No, not now! He started losing altitude as I looked at Jason, "Grab Rocky, Coach, and the venti cage. I'll take care of Festus. Go!" I told him. Rocky woke up as Jason grabbed her.
He grabbed the cage and Coach, who overheard and gripped the cage. Jason flew overhead and I heard Rocky, "Noooo! Leeeooo!" Festus and I crashed into the ground.
******Celestial bronze was everywhere. The once nice ground was ripped and destroyed. I managed to survive the crash, no broken bones or any of that. Except, my heart was broken when I saw Festus.
The only thing in tact was his head. He creaked at me, his eyes flickering, threatening to go out. Tears fell down my cheeks, "No! Don't go... You were the best thing I ever fixed." His eyes flickered and he creaked one last time. His eyes died out. I picked up the head, usually, it was a ton, but now, it felt like paper.
I sighed, "Dad, can you do me a favor? Can you take this to Bunker 9 at Camp Half-Blood?" I remembered the blueprint and the old drawing I drew when I was little. Festus could be used for something else.
The wind picked up and lifted Festus' head from my hands and it went up into the sky. I knew Dad heard my plea and I wiped my eyes. I promise, buddy. You'll be used again. You'll have your body again, I swear.
I scanned the area for Rocky and Jason. They were at the front of the gates to the mansion we crash landed into. Rocky wrapped her arms around my neck, "I'm sorry." She whispered.
I hugged her tighter as Jason patted my back. Even Coach Hedge didn't have anything to say. I let go, looking around the place. I felt the traps that were at the front. I found the control panel to them and disabled them. Rocky wiped her eyes and followed me after I put the panel back on.
We walked up to the door and found out it was unlocked. "What? After all those traps, the door is just unlocked?" Jason exclaimed. We walked in, not knowing what we were walking into.
A/N:
This was the saddest chapter I have written for this fanfiction! I wish I didn't have to include Festus' crash, but it is a big detail. *sigh*
