Chapter Twenty-Three

(Rocky's POV)

I struggled as the cold started taking away my heat. I think it was starting to turn into frostbite. I bit my lip as Jason looked at Khione, "What are you doing to her??" Khione smirked evily, "Children of the Fire god shouldn't be here at all. Plus I saw her make that rude gesture."
I looked down at the ice forming on my arms then closed my eyes. When I opened them, they were blue and the ice on me melted into water. I grabbed Jason's hand and pulled him behind me, I looked at Khione with a look of hatred.
"You touch me or Jason again, and I will tell Lord Boreas, then burn you." She hissed threatenly. Khione chuckled, "Go ahead. See if I care. You will rue this day, Roxanne Valdez. Mark my words." Khione walked away and my eyes faded back to their regular multicolor.
Jason looked at me, "You alright now?" I nodded and walked back to my brother and the two guys. He looked at me then walked with us outside. "Dude, did Khione ask for my number?" Leo asked.
I facepalmed and looked at Leo, "Hermano, Khione es muy mal y cruel.(Brother, Khione is really bad and cruel.)" I told him in Spanish. Jason looked at me confused and I translated. He nodded, "She is, Leo. She nearly turned your sister into a demipopsicle."
Leo sighed, "¿que paso?" As Festus unfolded himself, we explained what happened. He sighed, "Well, there goes my shot of asking her to prom." Really Leo... "Umm, Leo." "Yeah, sis?" "There is no prom at Camp Half-Blood." "Oh."
We climbed back on Festus and started flying again.

(Leo's POV)

Well, that sucked. I was hoping to talk to Khione alone and maybe getting an email, number, or anything to talk to her more. "Where would Aeolus be now?" I asked. They both shrugged, "Boreas said to look for the Hunters of Artemis first."
"Who are they?" I asked. Jason looked at Rocky, "Yeah, who are they?" She sighed, "Ya'll two have been at camp longer than me, and yet none of ya'll know the Hunters of Artemis?" I nodded and she sighed, "The Hunters Of Artemis are an elite group of girls who vowed to become maidens and never fall for men."
I kept steering Festus, but I was listening as Rocky continued, "They swore under the goddess, Artemis, Goddess of the Hunt, who also was a maiden." I tilted my head, "Wasn't there another goddess who was a maiden?" She nodded, "Athena."
Jason looked at her, "So we have to find these Hunters who could be dead, great." Rocky shook her head, "When they make the vow to stay a maiden, they are immortal. The only way they could die is if they break their promise, or get killed in battle. Some of those girls have been maidens since World War Two and they still look young."
She looked up to the sky with a sad look, "Four years ago, Percy told me of a Hunter he met. Her name was Zöe Nightshade. She died in battle, making her father, Atlas, hold the weight of the sky again. When she died, Percy told me that Artemis took her soul and blew it up, spreading into the stars."
Jason looked confused, "Into the sky?" She nodded, "So she was never forgotten. You would see a girl running across the sky, her bow out, ready to fight." She searched the sky and pointed, "There she is." I looked up and saw a girl, a bow in her hand and an arrow notched on the string.
I heard something hiss and creak, I looked around. Rocky screamed, "Leo, we're going down!" I saw the land get closer and Festus' eyes were dull once more. I crashed next to a building with Festus, Rocky and Jason were nowhere to be seen.
