(Jason's POV)

The room was covered in gold. If you looked at it from the outside, you may think it was just a regular mansion. It was like someone spray-painted everything golden. Rocky touched the wall and looked at us, "This is real gold."
I held her hand and kept her close. Leo looked around, "Whoever lives here is flithy rich." We all nodded. Coach held his bat in his hands, ready to hit anyone if he had to.
"We can spend the night here, I guess. Better than out there." Rocky concluded. We were about to unpack when the door on the other side of the room opened.
Coach noticed and started running to them, "DIE!" Leo and Rocky stopped him. "Hey! Calm down! We are the intruders." Rocky said. The older man looked stunned and the younger man held the hilt of his sword in his hand.
"Coach, why don't you go watch outside?" I said. Coach growled and looked at me, "If you need help, I'm gonna be there." He walked out and shut the door.
"We are sorry to intrude, sir. We didn't know anyone lived here. We'll leave now." We turned around as the man shook his head. "Stay, stay. You demigods are much nicer than the others that visited. Damn Hunters. Always have a temper."
I looked at him, "The Hunters Of Artemis were here?" Rocky and Leo turned around to face him as well. "Indeed they were, they finally left about two hours ago. Going west, I believe. They were asking about a trail."
I thanked him. He looked at us, "What are your names?" He asked. "Rocky." "Leo." "And I'm Jason." He nodded, "My name is Midas." Rocky blinked, "As in, King Midas? Who had the golden touch?" He nodded, "Yes, but do call me Midas, please, sit down."

(Leo's POV)

I sat down beside Jason, but kept my guard high. King Midas died a millenium ago. How are all these people coming back to life? Medea was suppose to be dead milleniums ago. The cyclopes were reforming when they were suppose to stay dead. What's going on?
"Now then, where were we." Midas said, sitting on a throne-like couch. The boy kept watching our every move like a hawk, ready to strike at any moment.
"I thought you gave up the touch after you accidently turned your daughter into gold." Rocky asked. "Bah! That's a lie. I kept the touch, obviously." He gestured to the statues. One of them was a young girl. That must of been his daughter.
I glanced at the man who was next to her, a barber who looked stunned. "Ah yes, my old barber. I was afraid he was going to tell everyone about these."
He took off his cap and revealed Donkey ears. Rocky saw the looks of confusion on Jason's face and mine. She sighed, "Midas was the judge for Apollo and Pan to see who was the best musician. Well, Midas chose Pan and Apollo..."
"Apollo turned my ears into the ears of an ass. Yes, that is correct." Midas finished. Jason held Rocky hand as Midas looked around, "I would never give up my golden touch. No. It became useful. It shut up my annoying daughter. And it has supported my Patron with weapons."
"Your Patron?" Jason and I said at the same time. He nodded, "Yes, my Patron. The one who rose me from the Underworld, telling me that Thanatos has been chained."
"Death has been chained..." Rocky thought aloud. "No wonder the cyclopes reformed. Without Thanatos, the doors of death are wide open. Anyone can roam free, never dying." Her eyes widdened at a thought and looked at me.
Is she thinking about... No. Mom wouldn't want to come back like that. She probably moved on already. I shook my head slightly at Rocky. She looked down and Jason held her closer.
I stood up, "Midas, er sir, we should be heading out now. We have to finish our quest." Midas stood up, "Oh no need. I was told the three would be coming. My Patron would love to have you three." Rocky stood up, her pocketknife out, "Your Patron is Gaea!"
