"Mother's dead."

Those were not the words Rebekah expected to hear when she woke up. In the midst of her confusion a blood bag was tossed in her direction, only she didn't see it coming and it collided with her face. Rebekah slowly turned her head to see who threw the bag, meeting her brother's amused gaze.

Kol had his legs propped up on the table with a glass of bourbon in his hand, looking utterly bored. "For definite this time. One can only hope." He continued, swirling the contents of the glass before taking a sip.

Rebekah blinked, "What?"

He released a heavy sigh as if filling his sister in was a draining chore. "Esther. She's dead, Bex." Kol gestured to the blood bag, "Now drink up, I want to leave this dreadful town. I'm bored."

With that he downed the rest of his drink then walked out of the room. Kol had never actually undaggered one of his siblings before. He would get his revenge on Klaus for all the times he had been forced into a coffin. Maybe he would go to New Orleans to fetch the diamond when he leaves town...but finding a descendant of Mary-Alice could be time consuming and Kol was never that fond of the city anyway. His schemes against Klaus aside, he had to revenge to plot against his sister.

Speaking of Rebekah, her voice was following after him. "Kol!"

"What now?" He whined, walking further up the grand staircase.

Rebekah stayed at the bottom of the staircase, "What the bloody hell happened?"

Kol turned around, briefly gesturing to the room they were just in, "I found you in there with a dagger in your chest and given how mother came back unharmed my guess is that she possessed you for a short while." He explained, turning back around to continue his journey to the library.

Her voice halted him again, "You took the dagger out?"

"I did." He confirmed, "You best go hide it before Nik gets his filthy claws on it again."

"No one but Klaus has taken it out before."

It almost meant something to Rebekah that he had done that instead of leaving her to sleep for decades like Klaus did. Kol wouldn't let this be an opportunity for a sibling bonding moment, not when he was holding a grudge against her. "Don't think I've forgotten, sister." He warned, "I'll get you back for what you did to me in nineteen-fourteen."

Rebekah's face fell but before she could respond the front door was opened abruptly. "Kol!" Cassie's voice echoing through out the foyer, "Kol, are you home? Kol!"
