World meets Maya

{7} Have you been stalking them?

I was perfecting my 'cool' walk before I heard Smackle yelling my name from across the hall. Well there goes my cool rep

"Zay wait up!" She was panting when she reached me and her rosy sunset like blush was flooding her face. "For the love of Marie Curie! why are these hallways so long?"

"For the love of Marie- okay never mind what's up Smackle?" I say, this chick has always been weird.

"First off don't look at me like that" Her hands on her hip and my confused face is immediately wiped clean. "Second, why are you walking like you pissed your pants.

Obviously when she says this I get offended because my walk is known amongst gods. I didn't realise I said that aloud until she said "Gods I don't believe in. Anyway we need to have an operation break up meeting."

Okay, so I know plotting to break up my best friends relationship isn't ethical but in my défense it's truly for the purpose of love.  For the past- however long i've been a side character- I've noticed Lucas and Maya's soul mate evolution and love is quite frankly the only science I believe. It is also the science i'll ever pass so.

"Smackle, honey, please call it operation lucaya because break ups are evil. Plus it ruins my vibe of being the love master"

She rolls her eyes at me to which I give the classic response of a Babineux smile. She immediately holds her hand up "Don't you give me one of those creepy ass smirks"

Wow she really has a talent of wiping any emotional expression I ever potray. She gets back into a frenzy " Plus it isn't just Lucas and Maya, it's Riley and Farkle too remember"

I sigh dramatically "Okay that's too much work. I got stuff to do"

"What stuff? you'be done like 5 assignments in total this year and got away with the rest by making up fake excuses. Tell me again how many of your 65 grandmas have died?" Smackle begins walking away and I turn on my heel to follow her as per usual.

"All two of them." It's not my fault these teachers are that gullible. 

"damn. RIP" She replies in the most bored tone ever. She goes into an empty classroom and pulls out a binder.

"I really admire your sympathy dear and if you wanted to make out with me in an empty classroom you should've just asked" I intended to go on before she forced me to sit down and placed her hands on my shoulders

"Stop flirting with me or your balls are being used in my next science experiment"

"Ah to study why girls are so addicted to me?"

"No, it's for the theory of why your dick fills the space of where your brains supposed to be!"

Okay she's quick i'll give her that. "I see why Maya likes you"

She ignores me and proceeds to fill me in on how our secret operation is going. Once I hear how Lucas has visited Maya's window like a creep and Farkle talked to Riley under the stars at a frickin party, I only have one thing to say.

"Have you been stalking them???"

She rolls her eyes for like the sixth time today "Yes why wouldn't I but also Maya told me that she sent Farkle to the party to drop off beer, so i'm assuming Riley did her Riley thing of going under stars and talking about the meaning of the universe-"

"Wait hold up does Maya know about Riley and Farkle?"  I interrupt her, if she starts talking again about how Riley's mindset completely rivals her own I will combust.

"Of course not, I just told her that since me and Farkle broke up, he really wanted to talk to Riley about it but she's always busy with the jocks and the idiots which obviously includes Lucas." She sits down and her shoulders slump. I suddenly feel bad for her, I wonder if she liked Farkle still. For some reason that thought irks me.

"Oh. I'm sorry about you and Farkle by the way" She immediately starts shaking her head when I say that.

"I'm not sorry about it. We were never meant to last" she offers me a smile. "So what's the next step"

I want to talk more about her and how's she doing but I figure she might not want to. "Well, we gotta get Riley to host that summer weekend she always does. At the summer cabin her mum rents out."

Usually Riley would've done it herself but this past year, she's been forgetting a lot of things with the group. Which we all excuse cause it's Riley and we love her but I can tell it's secretly getting to Maya. Speaking of Maya I need to go ditch school with her.

"Okay well, you ask her about it Zay and I'll go talk to Farkle. Clear the air between us" She stands and goes to leave but hesitates. "Zay, I think it's great you love our friends so well. Please don't get sucked up into this too much and take care of yourself. You matter more than any of them"

"Says you stalker" I reply "but thank you." We both smile at each other as we leave the classroom and head in opposite directions. I see Maya waiting for me at the doors, she seems happier than usual and I smile. I've always felt second best but these friends I've made have changed me for the better and I owe them the world.

Especially Maya, I'd do anything for her, I can tell stepping back for Riley and Lucas takes a toll on her. I know that her depression is getting worse too and even though she's not ready to say anything about it yet. I'm gonna be here by her side until she is. She throws her motorcycle helmet at me "Your late handsome get on the bike"

"Anything for you blonde beauty"
