Stevie was up before Lindsey the next morning. She didn't expect they would spend the night together, she honestly imagined them watching a Christmas' movie, drinking tea, cuddling on the couch and then they would go to bed to sleep. Not that she was regretting any of what happened, Lindsey always knew how to make her feel the sexiest and most desirable woman alive. Yet, she couldn't stop herself from doubting if things continued being this good, once they officially got back together. Maybe Lindsey was trying, but just for now, until she let him in again or maybe he truly changed and she was scared for no reason.
She felt his lips pressing against her shoulder, making her smile. She turned her head, receiving a good morning kiss. "Slept well?"
"I slept so well. I think it has a lot to do with you being here. I need someone by my side."
"You know that I would be more than happy to be by your side all the time."
"I'm not ready for such a heavy conversation yet." Stevie laid her hands over his that were placed on her stomach, as she pushed herself more into him.
"Was that an invitation?" Lindsey asked shamelessly, getting a chuckle out of her. "No, seriously?"
"Do you ever think of something else?"
"It's very hard to with you in my arms." He said sincerely, leaving a small kiss on her neck.
They lay like that for some time, neither wishing to get up. Stevie wasn't surprised, when Lindsey's hands began wandering, his fingers trailing over her hip. He lifted her leg and placed it over his, as his hand touched her gently. She tilted her chin up, blindly searching for his lips. He teased her for a moment longer, before stopping and withdrew his hand to take a hold of his length, the tip of his erection pressing into her opening. He groaned, his voice low as she arched a little, reaching behind to tangle her fingers in his hair. There was no rush and she was a lot better with him changing the rhythm, going faster and slightly harder. He brought his hand up to her breasts, paying equal attention to both as he squeezed them, unable to resist adding a touch of excitement as he pinched and tugged at her nipples, making her buck against him. He made sure they would climax together, as his fingers slid over her clit only a couple of times, hearing his own name gasped out through her lips.
"I love you." Lindsey whispered into her neck.
"I love you." Stevie repeated, lacing her fingers through his.
They both took a shower, separately, and after having small breakfast, Lindsey drove them to Stevie's parent's to bring the children home. As soon as Stevie appeared in the living room, where her family was, Lynn jumped to her little feet and ran to her. Stevie happily lifted the girl up, receiving kisses on every inch of her face. Only a short period of time had passed since Lynn got to really know her grandparents, but she already loved them to bits and so did Stevie and Lindsey, both feeling that this brightly smiling little kid brought a lot of joy into their home, which was something everyone desperately needed.
"I see things went fine." Stevie said, taking a seat next to Barbara, who waved it off with her hand.
"Didn't I tell you we would be alright?"
"I still worry, I don't want to tire you out, Mom."
"They're angels." Barbara said, smiling at Alice and Lynn.
"What about me, huh?" Taylor joked, putting his hands on his grandmother's shoulders from behind the couch.
"You know I love you too, Taylor! You should never have questions about it, you were my first grand-baby and you're going to hold a very special place in my heart, always."
Lindsey joined the others after chatting some with Jess, who wasn't feeling very well, and he got the same greeting from the littlest Buckingham like Stevie had moments ago. Barbara asked her daughter out of the room, saying she needed some help with a few things. Stevie, of course, didn't hesitate following her mother into the kitchen.
"What's the deal with Lindsey?"
"What do you m..."
"No, Stephanie. Don't play that with me, I know you understand what I mean. You two are in love!"
"Mom!" Stevie hissed, rolling her eyes.
"If you're not back together with that man, there's something seriously wrong with you, honey."
"Thanks!" Stevie laughed, shaking her head. "There's no... label for us right now, but I believe we're headed the right way."
"Oh, this is so exciting!" Barbara pulled her daughter into a hug, making her giggle. "You belong with him, Stephanie, you know it."
"Well, we..." Stevie shrugged, unsure how to put it. "We talked a couple of months ago, I let Lindsey know where we stand with each other, that there are a lot of issues that need to be worked out, but yes, I would love for us to be together again. He seems to have changed so much, he's so sweet and caring. I mean, last night was..." Stevie clamped her hand over her mouth, realizing she wasn't talking to Lori right now, this was her own mother!
"It's okay, we don't have to talk about that part."
"No, no we do not."
"So, for how long are you planning on torturing Lindsey?"
"Actually... There's something he doesn't know yet, nobody knows. Just a few weeks ago, I received a call about a co-headlining tour."
"You're not going, are you?"
"I am. I need it, Mom. It will be good too, I'll know if he's just pretending until he gets me back or if he's serious about our relationship. It will tell me a lot, how he's going to react, especially when I tell him, who I'm touring with. If Lindsey hasn't dealt with his jealousy, then that's where things are going to stop for us. He can't even be jealous or possessive of me, because technically, we're both still single and I can do whatever I want as he can too."
Barbara had a concerned look across her face. "Be careful, please. I don't want you two falling apart again."
"Let's not think about it just yet."
The two women returned to the living room and Lindsey knew what they were talking about, he wasn't stupid. "Everything okay?"
"Yeah, fine." Stevie smiled, taking a seat next to him.
"Are you staying for lunch?" Barbara asked.
"Umm... Sure." Stevie said, as her mother went back to kitchen and she had to reassure Lindsey, things were alright and he shouldn't worry.
