It was already the last of the four shows Lindsey had agreed to finish alongside Stevie. This little impromptu arrangement did a world of good for them. They sat down to go over the set list and all songs they had settled on were about nothing else but how beautiful their love was. The majority of what they had written to and about each other showed that no matter what, nothing and no one could ever break them up for good. They even went as far back as to Buckingham Nicks record and they finished each show with a lovely rendition of Without You.

Stevie was glad this tour was finally over, however short it might have been, too many things had happened and gone wrong, despite ending it on a high, she still wanted it behind her. She also missed her children and her gorgeous granddaughter terribly. She was more than ready to go home.

Lindsey realized that it wasn't worth fighting and testing their relationship any longer. They knew each other, they loved and couldn't stand things about the other, but they were still in love as ever if not more, he often thought. Stevie was the mother of his children and he had a hard time believing in those things, but she was also his soulmate. What good would it do to argue and distance themselves from each other? What if one of them decided it wasn't worth it? No, he wouldn't take that risk. Trust issues were there and they weren't going to go away in a flash, but he knew what he wanted and he wanted her.

The plane landed in Phoenix at 2pm. Stevie willed herself into taking a nap, so she could spend some time with her family once they arrived home. Although, Karen had called Taylor before departure and he said they should come to his place because that's where he was with Alice and Lynn.

The moment Stevie got out of the car, her favorite girls came running into her. "Oh, I missed you both so much!" She drew both Alice and Lynn into a hug, kissing their foreheads.

"Don't leave me again, Mommy!"

Stevie smiled, bending to kiss Alice again, while Lynn was jumping in one spot with her arms up in the air, asking to be picked up. "You're getting heavier, sweetie. I don't know for how much longer I'll be able to lift you. You'll be lifting me!"

"Silly, Nana!" Lynn chuckled, pressing a big kiss to Stevie's cheek.

Taylor came outside too, greeting Lindsey then walking over to Stevie, once the girls left her alone. "Hey, you." She hugged him, then drew back, holding her son at arm's length. "How did you survive?"

"It was fine. Actually, it was better than that. Strangely I'm not a huge fan of getting my nails done by Lynn, but she got Alice to agree without any problem."

"It was so unexpected and your father said he would do it with me, and..."

"Mom, it's okay. We're all alive and well." Taylor smiled, putting his arm around Stevie's shoulders. "Now, let's go inside. Are you hungry?"

"I'm not, but I'm sure Daddy is."

"When he's ever not?"

Lindsey rolled his eyes, taking Stevie by the hand as they walked inside the house. Stevie's eyes instantly settled on a gorgeous, young blond in the kitchen, who was putting the kettle on and reaching for cups for coffee.

"Hello." Stevie said in a tone that she used to greeting every girlfriend Taylor ever had, although she didn't have the slightest idea of who the woman was.

"Oh, I'm sorry I didn't notice you!" She smiled brightly, approaching them. "I'm Sharon. It's so nice to finally meet you."

"These are my parents, Sharon." Taylor hugged them both. "Stephanie and Lindsey Buckingham."

"I go by Stevie and I'm not a Ma'am, just so you know."

"Don't scare her, Mom, please..."

"I'm sorry, but who are you?"

"She's my girlfriend." Taylor now stood by Sharon's side. "I was going to introduce you soon, but with everything going on..."

"Nice to meet you, Sharon." Lindsey spoke up, his arm circling Stevie's waist. He knew her too well, any woman by her son's side wasn't going to have an easy ride.

Taylor led his parents to the living room, while Sharon finished making coffee. He sat down next to Stevie, unable to ignore that little pout. "Turn that frown upside down, Mom."

"I thought I was coming home to see my family. "

"You can't honestly expect me not to see anyone ever?"

"I can wish." Stevie shrugged, leaning into Lindsey. "You go, we're not friends right now."

"Mom!" Taylor laughed.

"I mean it." She said, now chuckling herself.

Lindsey kissed her temple. "She's his girlfriend, not someone to abduct him so you would never see him again."

"I know, I wasn't expecting it, that's all."

"Look at the bright side, this could mean more grand kids to us."

"Oh, how didn't I think about that!" Stevie sat up straight again. "I'm going to be extra nice to her now."

"You're the one and only, Steph, you know that right?" Lindsey laughed, pulling her closer again, as they shared a brief kiss.

They were all getting to know each other a little better. Sharon turned out to be a nice girl, three years younger than Taylor. As Stevie and Lindsey found out, the two had been seeing each other for a couple of months now and things seemed to be getting quite serious. Sharon moved to Phoenix with her Dad when she was just a little girl. Her mother passed away and her father wanted to start their life somewhere else. She was working as a nurse at a hospital, which Stevie liked hearing. But what she liked most was how Lynn was already drawn to Sharon.

"I'm sorry for how I was earlier." Stevie said to Sharon. "Just... You know, Taylor is my little boy."

"No, I'm not! I'm twenty seven, Mom!"

"I think it's really sweet, the relationship you two have. It's not every day you can find a mother and a son so close."

Lindsey didn't mean to appear as if he didn't enjoy spending time with his son, but he was ready to go home. He gave Stevie's hand a squeeze and she picked up on it right away. "Well, it's probably time for us to head home now."

"No, I want to stay longer!" Alice whined.

Before anything could be said, Taylor suggested. "Why don't you stay another night with us, Alice? I'm sure Mom and Dad are exhausted and they could us some time for themselves."

"Please?" She turned to her parents and all they could do was nod. "Thank you!"

"Thank your brother." Stevie looked at Taylor pointedly. "We'll see you tomorrow then."

After saying goodbyes, Stevie and Lindsey took Taylor's car, as Karen had already left, not wanting to interfere. Lindsey glanced to his right, seeing Stevie leaning her head against the window. He took her hand, bringing it up to his lips.

"You okay?"

"Fine."

"And really?"

"No, I'm okay, honestly. The travelling is catching up with me, I feel so tired."

"You don't have to wait until 4am, you can go to bed as soon as we're back."

"Will you join me?"

"I can cuddle you until you fall asleep."

"You're not tired?"

"Not really, besides I have something to do."

"Oh?"

"I'm not going to tell you yet, so don't even try."

"Just because I'm half asleep, I'm not going to."

"Good girl."

"Your good girl."

Lindsey smiled, kissing her hand again and then returned his concentration back on the road ahead of them.
