Having dressed decently in a full-sleeved wine coloured dress, Haejin looked at her reflection in the mirror one last time.

Her long hair sat perfect on her torso, the loose curls making them look more natural than her normally straight hair. Her light make-up was just enough, accentuating her features and not completely changing them. Her earrings adding to the glow on her face.

Her dress was a closed-neck, full sleeved dress which fit her torso perfectly and then further became a little flowy, stopping just above her knees. A pair of matching footwear, and Haejin would be ready to leave.

Unsure of her fashion skills, Haejin was a little reticent in showing up in these clothes but she had no other option. So, after setting her hair for the last time, Haejin left the house when she got the notification that her cab had arrived.

Haejin usually never travelled in cabs, but the place that her mother had texted was almost an hour away, near her mother's office. And after having put so much genuine effort in her looks today, she definitely didn't want to ruin it by travelling in subways which would be overcrowded with people returning to their homes after finishing their offices.

The whole ride to place was as slow as the evolution of apes to humans. It only ended up in Haejin overly stressing about today's dinner because something in her mother's tone and her words did not sit right with her. Also, it had been a long time since she has had dinner with the Lees, and met Minho in person. She was only praying to not do something embarrassing in front of everyone while trying to be careful and modest.

Somehow, with some more overthinking about the dinner and also about her college projects, Haejin finally reached her destination.

She paid the cab driver and called her mother to inform her that she had reached the assigned place.

In no more than two minutes, Haejin felt a tap on her shoulder and she turned in the direction to find out that it was no one else but her mother.

"You look so pretty, my daughter!" Haejin's mother exclaimed, her mother's eyes having literal hearts forming in her eyes as she saw her daughter in the pretty dress.

The compliment eased Haejin, a smile tugging up her lips as she thanked her mother.

"I surely have the prettiest daughter." Haejin's mother spoke once again having a prideful smile.

"Oh, geez, stop it mom!" Haejin sighed, and then continued to laugh.

Haejin's mother then led her to the table, inside of the restaurant and while walking, Haejin was amazed by the interior. She never thought that a combination of orange and dark-blue work this well together and give off such chic yet comfortable vibes.

Having walked through the tables which were open to the common people, Haejin then reached in front of a room and she figured out that the Lee family must be dining here tonight, away from the commoners and in tranquility of the private room.

When the room's door opened, Haejin's mother entered first followed by Haejin and there she was met with everyone.

Mr Lee, Mrs Lee and their son, Lee Minho.

A deep bow came to her naturally and she greeted everyone with a smile, a fake smile. Because, not at all was she happy about everything and not at all was she ready for the dinner where the adult-children weren't really allowed to speak, more like their opinions didn't matter.

Though, something surprised Haejin, Mrs Lee hugging her so warmly? and so chokingly. This sure was a first for her tonight and she definitely wasn't ready for what is waiting for her.
