A few more deep breaths, and Haejin walked inside the room. Her eyes fell upon all of the people seated, everyone except Minho looking at her in anticipation of her answer and it ridiculed her even more.

They waited for her answer when they had already made the decision?

Haejin held back the need to roll her eyes at the three elders and sat down where she was previously seated.

"So, what did you think, dear?" Mrs Lee asked the girl, her eyes begging for Haejin's answer to be a yes, the desperation flowing from her eyes.

Haejin took in a deep breath again and then spoke in a low voice. "Okay, I'll marry Minho." She didn't know why exactly she had said yes, she really didn't know. But now what had to be done was done and there was no turning back.

Both Mr and Mrs Lee's faces lit up, the glow on their faces unmatchable to the brightest ray of sunlight that had even fell upon the Earth. Haejin's mother seemed happy too, though, the look on her face was more of a relief and was different than that of the Lees.

What surprised Haejin was Minho's reaction, when she looked in his direction. He was staring right back at her, his eyes wide in... astonishment? As if he really didn't expect for Haejin to say yes, and he even seemed disappointed.

Haejin understood that look, the look that showed that both of them had lost the freedom of making their own decisions. The fact that the two engaged themselves in such a situation proved the point.

"Really? Thank you so much, dear. Really very thank you." Mrs Lee took Haejin's hands in her own, gently caressing them in their own as she expressed her gratitude. Haejin hated to admit but Mrs Lee's reaction seemed genuine.

But the reason behind that genuity was that their company will be saved and not their son. Either way they were going to marry him to someone not of his choice and Haejin felt truly sorry for him.

"Thank you, dear." Mr Lee also thanked Haejin and she just forcefully smiled at the two, her face spasming now because of the fake smiles she had to pass everyone the whole evening.

"Let's have dessert in the celebration of Minho's and Haejin's marriage." Mr Lee spoke, everyone except Minho and Haejin seeming happy and cheerful. The two exchanged a look, both uncertain of what the other's expression held and, both uncertain of what their parents had gotten them into.

The rest of the night continued just like before, the elders talking and the younger ones staying quiet. Not that they had anything left to speak, even if it was their marriage which was being talked upon.

"So, it's final. The marriage will be held on 3rd of November." Mr Lee spoke, catching everyone's attentions.

The sudden decision made Haejin choke on her pudding. She really couldn't enjoy her pudding today.

"But, isn't that next week?" Haejin asked, still astounded by the fact that they decided for the date to be this soon. She definitely needed time to convince herself for the marriage, and a week wasn't enough. Today was Friday, and November 3rd will be the next Saturday.

"The earlier, the merrier." Mrs Lee cheerfully spoke. She definitely was the happiest of all.

"But-"

"It'll be fine, dear. Do not worry. We'll do all the arrangements." Mr Lee reassured but this definitely wasn't the reassurance that Haejin needed at the time.

Haejin already felt sick, it wasn't like she hated Mr and Mrs Lee. They were much more humble than any other business-class family and, at times, were actually down to earth people.
