Muichiro and Tanjiro were sitting at home. Both preferred staying at home for new years compared to going to a party or something.
They were sitting on the couch waiting for the ball drop to start.
It was 11:30, so they had some time to kill. They did that by just enjoying each other's company.
"I can't believe another year is over..." Muichiro said quietly. "Yeah, but its been a great one." Tanjiro said softly while looking at Muichiro.
Muichiro smiled and looked down at his ring. The two spent the rest of the time in silence, though they had a small conversation every once in a while.
The ball drop started and they both looked up at the TV. They started counting down along with everyone else.
Ten!
Nine!
Eight!
Seven!
Six!
Five!
Four!
Three!
Two!
One!!!
Right as the ball made to the ground, Muichiro and Tanjiro looked at each other and kissed for the last time that year.
