Prom part III

It was a warm spring afternoon. The air smelled of flowers and the sky was an impressive bright shade of blue.

With only four days left till prom, everyone was hurrying to ask out their crush and submit votes for prom king and queen.

Muichiro had already voted Tanjiro for king and he voted Tanjiro's sister, Nezuko, for queen.

Even if they only spoke once or twice, Nezuko was nice to Muichiro, so he felt the need to vote her for prom queen.

Tanjiro, who was voting right now, decides to vote Muichiro for prom king(he couldn't think of anyone more beautiful than Muichiro to be king) and for queen, he was torn between Kanao and Nezuko.

In the end, he voted Nezuko to be the queen. Unfortunately for Muichiro, since most people didn't talk to him and they voted based off appearances, he had a good chance of ending up as prom queen.

Tanjiro and Muichiro started having lunch together every day(even though Muichiro didn't eat lunch).

The two talked more now and Muichiro felt comfortable with Tanjiro. He felt like he was able to open up more with Tanjiro than with anyone else.

Apparently, Tanjiro had five younger siblings. Five of them! Muichiro couldn't even imagine having more than one sibling at all, let alone five of them!

Tanjiro's mother was also a single mother, since his father passed away a couple years ago due to illness.

Tanjiro also learned that Muichiro lives with his cousin and her wife. He also learned that Yuichiro was Muichiro's twin brother.

The only reason he knew Yuichiro, is because he's friends with Senjuro and would sometimes drag Yuichiro over when they talked.

It was obvious that Senjuro had a crush on Yuichiro, and to Muichiro, it was obvious Yuichiro had one on Senjuro.

The next few days before prom went by in a blur. Though in those few days, Muichiro started being a bit more open and talkative with his family and told them about his prom date.

Yuichiro also talked a lot about his prom date. It would've annoyed Muichiro if he was anyone else, they could've been taking about anything and all that Muichiro would care about is that his brother was actually talking to him.

Muichiro wasn't one to talk to people first, so he waited for people to talk to him. That resulted in him not having any friends, well, until Tanjiro anyway.

It was now the day of the prom. Everyone was ecstatic and no one could focus for the whole day. The only thing that anyone could talk about was prom. Prom this, prom that. It started getting on Muichiro's nerves.

During lunch, Tanjiro asked him who he voted for prom king and queen. Muichiro answered with "I voted for you and for Nezuko."

Tanjiro quickly go used to how Muichiro would reply to things very simply and courtly. Because of this, their conversations were usually pretty short.

With only hours left till prom, no one could contain their excitement. Mitsuri helped Muichiro and Yuichiro get ready.

She put Muichiro's hair into a half up half down and put a hairpin into the ponytail part(help I can't write today). For Yuichiro's hair, she was having a bit of trouble trying to figure out what would look good on him without the twins matching. She eventually decided on just putting it into a high ponytail. She put a hairping in his hair as well.

For outfits, Mitsuri really wanted to put Muichiro in a dress, but Yuichiro wouldn't let her(unfortunately), so they settled on a dress shirt and a vest. Yuichiro had a similar outfit. The only difference between the two outfits is that Muichiro had a grayish blue vest and Yuichiro had a black one.

At the same time, Kie helped Tanjiro and Nezuko to get ready. Tanjiro wore a simple black suit and Nezuko wore a pink prom dress that she picked out a few weeks ago. For hair, Tanjiro let his bangs down, since Nezuko claimed it looked nice than pushing them back. Nezuko had a fancy updo with a floral hairpin in her hair.

At long last, prom was soon to begin. Tanjiro, who got Muichiro's address during lunch, went over to Muichiro's house to pick him up. Yuichiro had already left, since he was going to pick Senjuro up.

Tanjiro and Muichiro walked to prom together(neither had a car), while having small conversations.

They arrived at the prom. Muichiro almost had a panic attack when he saw how crowded it was. 'How dumb was the school to fit everyone in one gym?!' he wondered.

Tanjiro saw how anxious Muichiro looked and led him over to a corner where it wasn't so crowded. "Thank you." Muichiro said quietly. Tanjiro smiled softly and nodded.

After a few minutes, Tanjiro went to go grab some punch from the snack table. Muichiro waited in the corner. While Muichiro was waiting, a girl came over to him. Nezuko, he believes.

"Hello Muichiro!" Nezuko said with a smile. "Oh, um, hello Nezuko." Muichiro replied. The two talked a little bit. Muichiro soon learned that Nezuko came over to him to make sure that Tanjiro was treating him right.

Soon, Tanjiro came back with the punch and smiled softly when he saw Nezuko and Muichiro talking. He gave Muichiro his punch and joined the conversation.

The three were chatting for a little while, before a girl came up to them. She had black hair and a butterfly hairpin. "Nezuko" she said calmly "would you like to dance with me?" Nezuko's face lit up and she happily agreed.

Then, Tanjiro turned to Muichiro and said "would you like to dance?" Muichiro's cheeks were dusted with blush and he replied with "I've never danced before, but yes. I would love to."

The two made their way to the main area and Tanjiro took the lead. For only dancing for the first time that night, Muichiro was a fast learner and figured out what he need to do very quickly.

They stopped dancing after a little while because the King and Queen were to be announced. Muichiro didn't really care about being prom king(or queen) that much, but he knew that some people would kill to be prom king or queen.

A member of the student council, Aoi, announce the king. "The prom king is, to no one's surprise(she mumbles that part) Tanjiro Kamado!" everyone started clapping for him and Tanjiro made his way over to Aoi.

"Now for the prom queen" Aoi looked a bit confused as she looked at the paper "Muichiro Tokito?" Muichiro was very confused at why he would be the prom queen as a boy. Everyone started clapping for him and Nezuko, who was near Muichiro, dragged him over to Aoi.

"Isn't he a boy?" Aoi whispered to Tanjiro "it's fine" Tanjiro replied. "Well, congratulations to the king and queen! Go back to what you were doing" Aoi announced to the crowd.

Muichiro was still very confused when his brother came up to him and asked how he was prom queen. Muichiro only responded with "I have no idea."
