You closed your luggage and locked it, leaving it by the door. You've been waiting for Jihyo for the past five hours and the idol was nowhere to be found.

You've been waiting and waiting for the whole night but was met with disappointment again when Jihyo clearly forgot an important date like today.

When Jihyo finally arrived home, she sensed the tense atmosphere and noticed the luggage immediately.

"Baby, are you going somewhere?" Jihyo tossed her bag carelessly on the floor next to your luggage.

"Answer this question, Jihyo. Do you know what day it is today?"

You finally let out the tears you've been holding in for the past few hours when Jihyo had no idea it was your one year anniversary today.

"It's our first anniversary today, Jihyo. And I prepared a romantic dinner only for you to not show up or even remember it."

"Shit..." Jihyo held her forehead, "I'm really, really, really sorry, [Y/N]. It's just that I received an exciting news today from PD-nim that I'm going to have my first variety show! It's my very first one in ten years, baby! We'll have many more anniversaries but a solo variety show is hard to come by, especially when I'm not as popular as the other girls in Korea."

"And I'm really happy for you, Jihyo. I know how hard you work every day. You're doing an amazing job but I just want to know if I'm in your future."

Jihyo let out a confused laugh, "what do you mean? I just said we'll have many more anniversaries to come, of course you're in my future."

"I don't know about that, Jihyo. For the past one year you've always put your work first and me second. And I understand that. I can't even count how many times you've forgotten our dates. You even forgot my birthday and I let that slide, because you were busy with your promotions. I don't know how many times I can let things slide and pretend it doesn't bother me. I'm really heartbroken today, Jihyo. I thought you'd at least remember our anniversary but the way you just sweep it aside because something exciting happened at work, it makes me feel worthless. I don't want to be second in your life, Jihyo. I want to be put first. But it's obvious that you're not going to put me over your job."

"So what are you saying?" Jihyo wiped at her face as tears were silently streaming down her face.

"I'm saying we should maybe take a break from each other."

"If you want to break up with me just say so. Don't try to be nice to me when you're literally breaking my heart right now."

You shrug, "I want to break up with you."

Jihyo felt like her world was crumbling down and she felt stupid for being angry at you for even one second. She wanted to share this exciting news with you but now she's feeling all kinds of emotions. Suddenly, she doesn't want this variety show.

She wants you.

"Baby, is there nothing I can say to make you stay? I'm sorry I broke your heart today. I'm going to change, I'm going to put you first. Just don't leave me, please."

"You love your job, and I love that about you. I love your passion and I respect your hustle. I'll always support you no matter what you do, Jihyo. Maybe one day we'll meet again and you'll be ready to settle down by then."

"But I love you." Jihyo hung her head low.

"I know. I love you too." You grabbed your luggage and looked at Jihyo one last time. "Good luck with your variety show and send my love to the girls."
