I'm laying down on my bed with my dog and it's been like a week since me and Nick had our conversation and I still haven't talked to Matt since the party
I'm watching YouTube and I hear the front door open and close I completely stop all movement trying to see if I misheard
I hear footsteps walk into the kitchen opening the cabinets I slowly stand up there is no way I'm getting robbed right now
I immediately grab my phone and start calling one of my recents and I go to my closet grabbing a baseball bat and a pocket knife that I have stored away just for times like this
"Hello?" I heard a familiar voice coming from my face I look down and see I dialed Matt I mentally face palm it literally could've been anyone else I bring the phone up to my ear
"Matt I think there is some one in my house so please quiet down" I said "wtf you need to call the police, why did you call me?" He said worry heard in his voice
"Because for some reason I think my friends bring a better comfort than the police" I shrugged slowly stepping down the steps I put the phone in my pocket while I hear Matt saying he is gonna call the police if he hears anything bad and that he's driving over
I look around and see nothing I walk a little further down so I'm in my living room and look around again there literally nothing
I let an exhale because maybe I was just hearing things and turn back around to see my mom standing there I let out a loud scream and swinging the bat but she ducks
"Makenna Lovè jurio" she says sternly after fixing her hair up a bit, her back was straight she had a business outfit on which means she came back from where ever
"Mom?" I said In disbelief lowering the bat she gives me a warm smile. I really love my mom but our relationship isn't as good because of her work
"Why are you here?" I asked her giving her a hug she squeezed me and then answered "they said I could go home a little early and that I can return in a few months" she said
We pull apart due to a bunch of loud knocks at the door I walk over to the door and open it to see a very worried Matt
His eyes meet me and instantly relax he quickly pulls me into a hug catching me be surprised "you scared the shit out of me" he mumbles against my ear
I feel the butterflies forming in my stomach he pulls away his hands still on my waist and looks at me "why didn't you tell me u we're fine" he said I look over at my phone and it's dead his hands still on my waist
He probably only heard the scream and then got hung up on "phone died sorry" I say very awkwardly
I hear my mom clear her throat and both of our heads turn over at her "Matthew." My mom said last time she seen Matt was when we were like in 6th grade and last time I checked she liked him
He takes his arms off my waist me now wanting him to put it back "oh Mrs.jurio" he says nervously obviously hearing her harsh tone
She stares at him up and down "well aren't you gonna come here and give me a hug" she breaks into a smile and Matt does to and walks over to here giving her a hug
"Last time I seen, you were about 5'1 cute haircut and so small" she says hugging him as tight as she hugged me
"Last time you saw me I was 11" he says letting go her face goes into confusion "it's been that long" I nod my head "oh well how is Marylou" she says a little accent coming out
"She's good" Matt replies and they continue on the conversation my mom asking about way to many people "ok mom I think that's enough" I say getting embarrassed by the amount of questions
She looks at me and lifts an eyebrow "are you guys a-" I immediately cut her off "god mom no" I say putting my hands over my face "it's ok baby I always thought it would be you two getting together" she continued
"Is dad coming" I say trying to Change the topic she shakes her head no and goes into the kitchen
"And by the way I want you to get your sister tomorrow" she said my eyes widen I haven't seen my sister in awhile she would have to be like 14 now last time I seen her she was 12
"Mom she lives two hours away" I say Matt just silently standing there "well I'm sure Matthew can keep you company" she says
"I'll just see you uh at school or something" he said standing very awkwardly I sigh "no just stay and we can like hang out or something my mom wanted you to stay for dinner and invite your family" I said plopping on my couch he looks at me like a are you sure look
"Go ahead and tell them to get here by like 6:30" i say turning on the tv he nods and takes a seat next to me calling his family
This is really short but yea I needed to update and if ur rlly confused on the sister part if u check back on the very first chapter like maybe 1-4 it mentions her sister living with her grandma
