A/N: Just a small....tiny canon divergence that changes so much haha. As always, let me know what you think!!

It wasn't that the tension between the two of them had suddenly disappeared. It was that Anakin had found solace in her suggested meditation. Surely, a bit of peace could not hurt them.

Padme found the two of them watching the sun rise—Anakin's nightmare had not been a quiet one, the night before. And she had been worried, finding the two of them in silence.

"What is it? A vision?" Padme questioned, looking between the two of them.

Anakin just shook his head, finding it hard to breathe. "I saw my mother last night. As real as I see the two of you. She's in pain. She's suffering."

"He wants to go to her." Lexa murmured, looking to Padme.

"I know that I'm disobeying my mandate, Senator. But I have to do this. I have to help her."

"Then I'll go with you. We'll go with you," Padme amended, glancing at Lexa who just gave a nod.

Anakin looked torn—he knew the risks that were posed by leading Padme off-planet. He knew that this would likely result in getting in trouble with the Order—along with Lexa getting in trouble too.

"I'm sorry. I don't have a choice."

Lexa placed a comforting hand on his shoulder. "Anakin, you would not be yourself if you did not go to her."

Padme gave a firm nod. "Then we'll leave immediately. We must gather my things. We leave for Tatooine within the hour."

Space was cold, as always. Anakin had much more trepidation and anxiety as they flew, knees occasionally bouncing up and down. Lexa called out to him in the Force, sending a thread of calm to him.

"You need to be focused." Lexa murmured. "Focus will help you find her."

Anakin let out a breath. "You're right, as always."

"Well obviously," Lexa cracked a grim smile.

"You're not...mad at me for going to my mother?"

"Anakin," Lexa leaned forward, brushing her knees against his. "I would follow you into the depths of hell if it meant protecting and helping others. Your mother—the bond between a mother and a child is not one that can be broken so easily by time. And Shmi...is someone who I care for very greatly too."

"And for bringing the Senator here?" Anakin questioned.

"She's a loyal friend. I will do my utmost to protect her."

"I know. I think if you asked, she'd wage war for you." Anakin nudged her knee with his own, giving the Jedi a small smile.

"Probably. She'd be terrifying with a lightsaber." Lexa said in slight amusement.

"It's probably a good thing she doesn't have one." Anakin murmured.

Padme entered the hold, dressed in a hood and robes. "It's just like old times," she said, smiling at Lexa.

"No Qui-Gon to protect us this time." Lexa remarked.

"I can do it just fine." Anakin assured the two women.

"I'm going to be honest, I was counting on Lexa being willing to cut off someone's arm in order to protect the group." Padme admitted as they exited the ship.

"She is," Anakin called at the same time Lexa admitted that she would.

Padme paused, glancing around at the space port. "I have an idea."
