THE DOCTOR MEETS THE LIBRARIAN

I sighed as I placed another return back onto the shelf, for such a small town, there sure are a lot of people who borrow books from the public library. My shift was almost over so I began to walk back over to the counter.

"Hey, Cassie!" The bright and bubbly girl at the counter exclaimed as I walked over.

I smiled at her. "Hi Anna, since you're here, I'm gonna head off."

She nodded at me and I grabbed my small purse and headed out the door. I began the trek back to the house that Amelia and I now share. My parents passed away six years ago and ever since I have lived with the Ponds.

I passed by the ice cream truck parked in its usual spot when I heard something that caused me to stop in my tracks.

"Prisoner Zero will vacate the human residence or the human residence will be incinerated. Repeat."

I looked at the ice cream truck and realised that the sound was coming from the speakers. I walked up to it and frowned at the man who was desperately trying to fix it.

"What is that? Why are you playing that?" I questioned him.

"I'm not sure, it just started playing," the man answered, sounding unsure of himself.

I frowned and looked around the area, every device with a speaker played the same message about prisoner zero. I remember that name, it was the name we used to hear from the crack in Amy's wall. Speaking of Amy, I noticed her wearing her police officer costume with a very familiar face following her. They were walking my way and my eyes widened in shock when they got closer and I realised it was truly him.

The Doctor.

"Oh my god," I breathed and Amy glared at me.

"Yes it's him, yes there's trouble, no we don't forgive him," she stated.

The Doctor looked at me and something flashed in his eyes, a familiarity of sorts and I felt a pining in my chest.

"You're the Doctor," I stated softly.

"Yes I am," he moved his face so then it was only an inch away from my own, "and who are you?"

Amy scoffed, "You don't even remember Cassie?"

A look of realisation crossed his face and he smiled. "Of course, little Cassandra Cassoway. You've definitely grown up."

"Twelve years does that to a person," I stated.

A look of regret passed over his face and he was about to say something when the prisoner zero message played again over the speakers. His head snapped towards it and he walked over to talk to the man in the truck.

I zoned out for a moment. There was something so compelling about the Doctor. I couldn't quite put my finger on it but it had felt like he was a missing piece of me and that I just needed to be with him, to keep him out of harm's way.

I shook my head slightly to get out of the trance that I had put myself in. I looked around and noticed Rory standing on the other side of the park and decided to run over to him. Rory Williams had been mine and Amy's best friend since we were children, now that we're older he and Amy had become somewhat of an item.

"Rory!" I yelled waving at him, smiling.

He saw me and smiled, waving slightly, but was seemingly too preoccupied with watching a man standing with his dog, going as far as taking a picture of the man. I was about to ask him what he was doing before the Doctor and Amy suddenly ran over to the two of us, the Doctor snatching Rory's phone out of his hand, and looking at the picture he had just taken.
