Chapter 67: Happy mourning

Leigh-Anne likes to think that she is a good cop and a good friend, even though, the two things sometimes don't go very well together.

All of her relationships had suffered for her career and that said a lot about her priorities but when she started to hear whispers about FBI and Jaureguis she knew she was in one of those situations that she would have to choose again.

"I hate these people," Agent Simpson said entering the police station, he seemed to spit fire out of his mouth and Leigh-Anne just watched with interest, she knew he was the agent responsible for the investigation against the Jaureguis. Leigh-Anne also knew that he was handpicked for this job and knew that there was a great deal of pressure from high-ranking names for the Jaureguis to be overthrown, in this case, Laure Jauregui. "I hate people who think they are above the law just because they have money"

There were whispers of high offices wanting someone more malleable for business, now, Leigh-Anne didn't know Lauren well, Camila hadn't introduced them yet but she knew from Dinah that the brunette was completely in love, going as far as going to live with the raven with a few months of relationship, typical lesbian cliché. Leigh-Anne smiled to herself, at least one of the Cabello-Hansen sisters managed to get her head out of her ass. But the point was, Leigh-Anne didn't know Lauren so she didn't think it prudent to tell just whispers and conspiracies, thinking back, Leigh-Anne wondered if she had done the right thing.

"She won't come?" One of the officers asked angrily.

"'No" Agent Simpson replied "She's armed with lawyers and loopholes in the law"

"looks guilty to me"

"Don't I know it?" He laughed wickedly "Lauren Jauregui is the only person with a motive against the victims, Lucy Vives and Chris Jauregui"

"But we need proof" The officer nodded and Leigh-Anne quietly left the room, cell phone in hand. She had made her decision.

"'Leigh-Anne?" Camila answered in confusion "It's been so long... Is everything okay?"

"Yes yes" She couldn't go on too long and risk someone hearing her "Listen, about Jauregui"

"I know what it looks like ok?" Camila came to her defense "But Lauren is innocent in all of this, I swear, she did nothing"

"I guessed not," Leigh-Anne sighed, at least that ... "But the FBI... they're trying to bury your girlfriend, do you know that?"

"Bury?" She could feel the brunette's confusion on the other end of the line "Leigh-Anne?"

"They want her to take the blame, something about her not doing business with the big names" Leigh-Anne explained "Tell her to be careful, that's all"

"Okay," Camila said seriously "I'm going to tell her and Leigh-Anne. Thank you" Leigh-Anne shook her head, she hadn't done as much as she could do but it was what she was willing to risk. One warning was more than enough.

"Just be careful, little cabello" She smiled, Leigh-Anne likes Dinah's sister and doesn't want her to get caught up in this mess.

Camila hung up the phone with concern, Fallon was talking like it was all speculation, that nothing would spill on Lauren and the girls, that they could relax...

But that Wasn't what Leigh-Anne was talking about, she was talking about conspiracies and the FBI wanting Lauren to be guilty. No, she wouldn't let that happen.

"A friend of mine from the police just told me that they want to 'bury Lauren'" Camila said making Fallon look at her with interest "Are you sure we can relax?"
