Upon hearing this, Hu Yijian's face instantly turned pale. Although he usually appeared a bit silly, at this moment, he seemed to sense something and hastily exclaimed, "It's so cold outside, and I don't have a snowproof coat. How can I go out?"
"Don't worry, there are many things waiting for you outside. You'll only feel hot, not cold." I replied coldly.
Hu Yijian hesitated, but my gaze was already fixed on him. "If you don't want to go, then the future food has nothing to do with you. Get out of the cave; we don't keep useless people!"
After hearing this, Hu Yijian's face turned pale. He tried to seek help from others, but no one paid attention. Su Jie even looked at him with a cold smile. As for Xu Xiaorong and others, they had already seen through Hu Yijian's true colors and now just silently acquiesced to my decision.
Only Qianyi softly comforted Hu Yijian, patting his hand, attempting to ease the situation.
After lunch, I took a short rest and reinvigorated myself. Then, without any courtesy, I called out, "Let's go."
Muttering in his mouth, Hu Yijian hesitated, but my foot kicked him, and after scolding him a few times, he could only follow me with fear.
As we stepped out of the cave, the cold wind was biting, and Hu Yijian was immediately shivering, his teeth chattering. He pleaded, "Brother Wei, spare me, it's really too cold outside." Tears and snot almost flowed down simultaneously, presenting a pitiful appearance.
However, I had no sympathy whatsoever. Sympathize with him? Only if I were a fool. Sympathizing with him now would be seeking trouble for myself. "Stop talking nonsense and follow closely behind me." I thought, Hu Yijian, you deserve what you have today! Once arrogant and even planning to kill me, now in such a miserable state – a well-deserved retribution!
Under the coercion of my gun, Hu Yijian reluctantly caught up. We arrived near the wet woods, and as the weather grew colder, I estimated that the giant python had probably found a warm place to hibernate. This explained why it had been hunting so much on the beach for the past few days, evidently storing enough fat.
Without the threat of the giant python, the vicinity of the beach became relatively safe. My mood relaxed a bit, and I quickly led Hu Yijian to a small hill.
I handed the military shovel to Hu Yijian and told him to dig a hole in the ground. Under my stern coercion, Hu Yijian had no choice but to dig vigorously. In no time, he was soaked in sweat, no longer feeling the cold.
After more than an hour, we successfully dug a pit nearly as tall as a person. I found some lightweight branches for support and carefully covered the pit with leaves, completely concealing it. Then, I placed prepared small spotted fish as bait. With everything ready, I took Hu Yijian to the next location.
An hour later, we successfully set up the second trap. In this way, we made about three traps in the vicinity. Seeing the sky darken, I quickly took Hu Yijian towards the high mountain to the east. On the high mountain, Su Jie and I had once created an SOS signal. I remembered there was a cliff on the mountainside, and I intended to use it as Hu Yijian's grave.
More importantly, I had just noticed that the tide had receded quite a bit. Perhaps now was the time to explore the wreckage of the plane.
