Under the astonished gazes of the girls, I confidently walked on the snow, no longer sinking as I did before. This was a valuable experience summarized by many outdoor survival experts. My actions earned me a thumbs-up from Black Spicy Girl and the others.

"Brother Wei, you're amazing! Who would've thought of such a method!" Black Spicy Girl praised me directly.

"Xiao Wei, well done. Sister believes in you!" Su Jie also complimented me.

"Hmph! Even if you're lucky this time." Xu Xiaorong made a disdainful sound.

The praises from the girls improved my mood considerably. Wrapped in several layers of animal hide, I disappeared from their sight. I entered the snow-covered forest, where everything was pristine white, and finding food proved to be much more challenging than I had anticipated.

Firstly, the biting cold wind, carrying with it the snow, continuously swept through, obscuring my vision most of the time. I had to move very slowly. Additionally, in such weather, animals had almost entirely disappeared, and my surroundings were eerily silent. Even the wolf howls I had heard before were now absent.

"Do I have to take the risk and venture deeper into the jungle?" Although it might be slightly warmer in the deeper parts, the immense risks couldn't be avoided. I believed in Peggy's words; there must be some kind of danger in the heart of the jungle.

Feeling a bit frustrated, I punched a nearby tree, which unexpectedly brought me a pleasant surprise. The tree turned out to be unusually soft, forming a dent where I struck it. After clearing away the wood chips, I discovered several finger-sized wood-boring insects wriggling inside.

Seeing these insects, I felt genuinely delighted. Wood-boring insects were a precious find. While some people might find them repulsive, they were, in fact, a rare delicacy. Of course, eating them raw like in some survival shows was something I couldn't bring myself to do; it was too disgusting. However, fried or steamed, they were a fantastic treat, rich in high-quality protein.

I estimated that the girls might find them unpleasant, but on a deserted island, surviving was the priority. Considering the freezing weather, finding something to eat was already fortunate. Besides, these insects were actually quite tasty. I quickly found many wood-boring insects in the nearby pine trees, filled my backpack with them, and started to head back.

When I approached the vicinity of the cave, I noticed that Su Jie was near the area where she had been digging the latrine, looking somewhat embarrassed. I greeted her and prepared to go inside, but she suddenly called out to me with a blush on her face.

"Xiao Wei, come over here, help me out a bit!" she whispered, her face flushed.

"Help out?" I was momentarily stunned, and I could vaguely see that in the thicket, Su Jie wasn't wearing any pants. What kind of help did she need from me? Could it be...
