You cant win against someone who has absolutely nothing to loose.

  About another week had gone by and
everyday was once again, the same.

  Everyday was becoming a blur.

  Except for the fact that Auburn and Ellie
have been more tense, if you may, around
each other.

  They never spoke a word to each
other, but they constantly made eye contact.
They did the same training every day.

  They've been practicing other things and
hand to hand combat more often since it was
extremely important during these
circumstances.

  Auburn got up and got ready before going
down to the cafeteria. She got served with
eggs, toast, and sausage links along with a
bottle of water.

  She sat down with the Mercedes twins, who were sitting with Isabella and Kaylynn. Auburn
picked up her fork and took a bite of the
sausage before talking a bite of toast.

"Woah, our little A is eating, is she?" Selena
teased, grinning.

 
  Auburn chuckled. "Im not hungry, but I
haven't eaten in two days," she shrugged
before sipping her water.

  "We're glad you're eating," Quinn nudged
her slightly.

  After breakfast, they were all in the training
room with Aaron.

  "Today we're going to do defence with
weapons, but one of the two will have a
weapon this time," Aaron stated, "As you can
see, there are eight separate mats in the room
you'l be in pairs and you'll be practicing
just as we did last week. The knives I'm giving
to you are not fake, they're one hundred
percent real- so be careful. I chose not to use
fake ones because this teaches you more than
using a fake one- it gets your adrenaline
rushing and gets you up and thinking. If you get nicked or slightly stabbed or grazed, we've
got Healers- just be wary that the knives are
in fact real."

  "When I call your name, come to me and Ill
have you a knife before you and your partner
go to one of the eight mats," he said, taking
off the elastic band from the bunch of knives.

  "Atlas and Kaylynn," he called out.
Atlas walked to the instructor, Kaylynn
behind and grabbed the knife before going to
the mat.

"Dina and Selena ."
"Isabella and Brandon."
"Evelyn and Syiir."
" Quinn and I."
"Kadie and Jessie."
"Williams and Reid."

Auburn wondered why Aaron referred to them by their last names rather than first like everyone else

  "Just fucking great," Auburn mumbled to
herself as she walked to Aaron.

  He handed her the knife and she walked to
the only free mat left which was in the far
corner, Ellie following closely behind.

  "I'll be coming to each pair to see how you're
doing," Aaron stated loudly.

   Auburn twirled the knife in her hands,
standing on the opposite side of Ellie.
They stood there in silence, staring at
one another.

   "I'll be on offence for the first couple times,"
Auburn broke the silence.

  Ellie just gave a short nod.
