Sad i walk beside the still waters
and they restore my soul
but i cant walk on the path of right
because im still wrong.

They got back to the house, not facing any walkers in the process of walking back.

Ellie's grip didn't loosen around Auburn, they both kept their grips tight around each other.

Auburn told herself she should be terrified by the fact that Ellie killed one of their own with no thought, but she wasn't.

  She wasn't scared of Ellie.

In fact, she could never be scared of her.

Her care and affection for Ellie only ever grew.

"Darli-" Ellie cleared her throat, "Auburn, I need you to climb the tree back to the window," her voice firm, putting her down onto the ground where the tree she climbed down was.

"Can you do that? Can you climb the tree for me?" Ellie asked gently, tucking a loose strand of hair behind her ear.

  Auburn nodded.

"Use your words. I want to hear your voice," Ellie demanded, her knuckles brushing along Auburns cheek.

Auburn swallowed thickly. "Yes, I could climb the tree," she forced the words out, her voice coming out hoarse as she melted into his touch.

"Good girl," Ellie pressed her lips sweetly to Auburns forehead.

Auburn turned to face the tree, her hands shaking as she reached for the branch. She felt a cold hand gently grasp her elbow, turning her around.

"Hey, look at me," Ellie commanded, her tone remaining soft.

Auburn obeyed, her brown eyes meeting with Ellie's piercing ones.

  Oh, her favourite colour.

Auburn could see the stars in Ellies eyes, her blood covered features appearing more sharp in the light, her hair looking more red, the moon lighting up her skin.

  Ellie looked like art.

"I had to kill him, you know that, right?" Ellie drawled quietly, her hand gently cupping one side of her cheek.

Ellies jaw muscle twitched, her eyes flickering.
"He touched you— he hurt you and no one hurts you because youre mine. she spoke dangerously, but slowly, "No one hurts what's mine. I did it for you, Auburn."

Auburn nodded. "I know," she murmured.

Ellie wrapped her arms possessively around Auburn once more, her hand resting on the back of Auburns head with her arm around her.

"No one touches what's mine," Ellie mumbled before pressing her lips gently into her hair.

Auburn wrapped her arms around Ellies middle, basking in the moment of her touch and her.

Auburn always felt safe with Ellie.

She always felt at home with Ellie.

Ellie pulled away and Auburns arms dropped to her sides. Ellie smoothly slid her hands down to her shaking ones, holding Auburns hands in hers.

Ellie braided their fingers gently, bringing their locked fingers to her lips and pressing sweet kisses on the backs of Auburns hands.

Ellies soft lips pressed onto her bare skin, making her hands tingle as her heart skipped a beat.
