From what she could hear, the shots were fired by the auburn haired girl and to the lifeless boy.

Seven shots into Brandons dead body, one after another.

She felt Ellie's hand put the gun in her back pocket before the cold touch peeled her face off her body.

Ellie's hand cupping her damp cheek, a few of her fingers resting behind Auburn's ear as Ellie's thumb smeared the blood on her face from Brandon.

Ellie's green eyes stared into her brown ones.

Ellie's expression wasn't masked, but it was tense and flickering dangerously with her jaw muscle twitching in anger. Her eyes swirled with rage and vengeance, her eyes darkened.

Auburn's lip quivered as her cheeks were dampened with salty liquids. "I tried to s- I tried— to stop— but he- he wouldn't—" she choked out, but got cut short by Ellie pulling her in closer.

Ellie's arms protectively wrapped around Auburn's shaking body as she sobbed into her chest. She gripped onto Ellie so tightly, she swore she was preventing her from breathing.

Auburn stained the muscular girls' shirt with blood and tears. She was crying so hard into Ellie's chest with fear as she still felt Brandon's hands and lips on her body.

Auburn's eyes were squeezed shut, trying to forget about the last ten minutes that just happened.

She tried to forget about all of it, trying to focus on the safe and gentle touch of Ellie in front of her.

"It's okay, Auburn. It's okay... I'm here," Ellie said softly into Auburns hair, "He won't touch you ever again," Ellie whispered, but her note was dangerously dark.

One of Ellie's hands cradled the back of Auburn's head, her other arm wrapped around her body as Ellie's chin rested on the top of her head. Auburn's breathing was heavy, each breath shaking as she tried to calm herself.

"Shhh..." Ellie hushed soothingly, "It's okay. I've got you and I'm never letting you go." Ellie rocked them from side to side in the middle of the forest where they were surrounded by limp bodies.

"I'm never letting you go, Auburn."

Auburn heard Ellie's heartbeat rapidly beating in her chest and Auburn knew Ellie's veins were coursing with anger.

Ellie hummed something gentle as she drew circles on Auburn's back as she swayed them slowly from side to side. Auburn's breathing steadied, her eyes stayed shut as she slowly began to calm down.
